If my calculations are right is is way cheaper to buy a complete bike......I gave 4,000..for the sporty........with 7,000 miles....most motors are between 2500 & 3000....you dont know what they came out of or how they run....I rode this home..and around for a couple weeks...runs perfect.....should be able to piece out all parts including 2003 frame with title...should bring between 2000 and 2700 on ebay..even on low end at 2000...I would only have 2000 in a perfect motor brake rotor brake and other misc. parts I can use.....I do think that if you have building in mind starting with a complete will be cheaper.......I should have less than 6,000 in completed chopper...thats pretty dam cheap...........LOLIFE.......................

Just bought a sporty to do the same thing w/. I'm w/ you, I believe it to be a lot cheaper than piecing a complete bike.

I have been looking into doing the same thing 2007-2008 1200 sportster nightster fatting out the rear- drag bars and 37.5 rake to the front way cheaper than a 2008 rocker or any fome the ground up custom

Ive ridden it about 150 miles now.......time to tear down for paint........the ride has been good....no problems,other than losing a tail light.....LOLIFE..............
