Well, I started riding in 1982 (Honda Magna V4) nice bike, but not quite what I needed, I soon found out. Harley was just about goin' out of business, but I wanted one anyhow. Co-workers at a GM Plant, Don and Tony had an FLHTC & an FLT, & Pete had a nice '81 XLCH Sporty. I went over to the H-D dealer and they told me about a new Evolution Engine that was gonna change Harley's fortunes. I believed it and I ordered one, an FLHTC for a grand total of $7800.Lots of great rides, friends and fun. When I rode up to the factory in York PA that spring many workers inside actually came out and thanked me for buying that bike, what a felling of pride and patriotism. Well several years went by and two sons later I sold that Harley. This summer both those boys are in college and I'm lookin' to re-kindle that Harley majic, maybe a Dyna this time around!
I pulled out some old snapshots and scanned 'em to share with you all.
My 1984 Harley FLHTC the first year Evolution Engine

Factory workers took this pic of me below outside the York Factory - not very crowded for an Open House was it.

That first York Open House was really great - I rode the wheels off every bike they had including the new EVO Soft Tail

I don't think they were more than 25 people riding the new HD's - we rode new bikes all day - Lowrider below
They let us roam inside the factory going anywhere we wanted - here's an new bike being born

Blockhead EVO motor anyone - help youself...........

Still a few Shovel heads being built along side some Evo's

Last year shovel Wide Glide on the line

Wondering what's inside the building above - they even let us in there..........lots of vintage Harleys from the teens & 20's
I've got dozens of pics I'll post more if you want sometime
