Harley Al, where did you get the rear light holder? I have been looking since August last year when I bought my 06, so I could do my sidemounted plate.
Roloplex. Slam it to much air between the tire and fender. Am I repeating myself here? I do like that rear fender idea (I wonder why) I think the wrapping of the pipes is cool. Is that hard to do or as basic as it looks and how much does it cost?
Ok the Softail Standard sections a little week compared to the rest so I'll help out, this is my first time posting so bear with me, although I've been watching for a few months now. I got my first Harley back in November, a 2001 FI Softail Standard and since I added... Custom 4 1/2"Headlight Relocated turn signals to the forks Removed all belt gaurds New Seat Danny Grey Buttcrack 3 inch Foward Control Extensions 17x4.5" Chrome Deuce Rim and 160mm rear tire and Swaped to a Deuce Rear caliper ( got the info from this site!!!!!!) Stainless Steel inner slash gaurd(inside swingarm) Lowered rear 2 inches Stainles Steel Braided Clutch cable Installed an Easy pull Clutch kit in the tranny 2 1/2" Hooker Troublemaker Exhaust Pipes New gas cap and LED fuel gauge
And I'm going to be switching mirrors and front and rear fenders soon. I've had 2 other bikes but this is the first Harley and I'm loving it. Lets see if I can post some pictures.....
Thanks, 1meanmach the pipes are Hooker Toublemakers with the scaloped cut, I wanted something different from the V&H's and these are fulley ceramic coated inside and are a steped Header design. I'm real happy with them. Virginia, thats an awesome pint job and I too would like to know what tank your using is yours EFI or Carb?
I purchased the tank from the company that did my paint work. Where they got it from I have no idea. I know they bought it new, pressure tested and then sanded all the weld lines down smooth as part of the paint prep. In J&P Cycles newest catalog I believe page 409 has 5.1 gal 2" stretched tanks for softails that look just like mine ... before the prep of course.
how do you like those cycle shack slip-ons? do you know how they sound compared to the se2 slip-ons? i liked the se2 because they weren't really loud and have a deep rumble when you get on it. i really like the way those cycle shacks look. where did you buy them from. thanks. sorry for all the questions. pat
The slipon I got from we out of Dennis Kirk for 150. The got a mid loud deep rumble. They are louder than SE when I compared it with another guy's bike just compare the sounds. The stainless lines were put on there the day I bought it.
thanks for the information. i'll make my decision by tomorrow. i already have the ness big sucker air cleaner kit. did you get the hd download and if so how does it run. thanks pat
