Here is my new to me 1999 Heritage Softail.  It has 14000 miles and is in great shape.  I do have to find some bags for it.

OK, finally got some pics so I get to show mine. Picked it up last fall. 2008 Heritage Softail Classic. Done some minor additions, you know, chrome, footboard inserts, etc. All ready got a list of other things I want to do.

I ALMOST pulled the trigger on one just like that!  I just couldn't part with my '04, however...

Bonehead, I just recently aquired a 1999 Heritage Softail also. My question is, are those stock mufflers?
btw, Nice looking bike.

Nice scoot JD. What kinda wheels you looking for? I'm thinking 80 spoke for mine.

I'm on a tight budget these days so I'm thinking of running a 40 spoke 21x2.15 front wheel off of a dyna or softail standard and keeping the stock wheel in back. I've been hunting for a nice used and resonabley priced 21 HD OEM wheel but they're not as easy to come by as I thought. I'll probably go with Avon white wall tires all the way around.

80 spokes are nice...are you thinking 21 inch front, 18 inch rear?

No, I will keep the size wheels. See no reason to go bigger, although if I needed tires I might go 18".

JD, pardon me for butting in, but it's been bothering me. I am wondering why you would want to run a tall, skinny wheel/tire on a Heritage. In my opinion, it would look pecular. Again, pardon my butting in. Just wondering why.

Marsh***

I know it seems odd, but I really like the look. If you run an MH90 Avon white wall it's not all that skinny, skinnier than stock yeah...but not weird looking. There is another thread where a member with a Softail Deluxe is running a black and chrome 21 up front...not sure what the width is but id bet it's no wider than 3". I don't know how to point to other threads, if its even possible...but I wish I could to show you the picture. In my opinion, it just give the bike a classic lowrider type look.

I know thats not everybodys cup of tea but for me it works.

Sorry for intruding, but I thought I would show a pic of a Heritage Softail with a 21" front wheel.
I personally love the looks of both 21" and 16" front wheels. Of course it's a matter of personal
taste.

That's excatly the look I want. That is a sweet bike!

What is the width of that 21? I was planning on going with a 2.15 but I know people are going wider.

I'd advise going with a 3" or 3.5". You can actually run this size without making any modifications
to the frontend. Since you're located in the US, check out these sites....

I am a fan of spokes with whitewalls on a Heritage but as you have a custom paint job and no whitewalls i would probably go a nice set of 18'' PM wheels.Saw a Heritage with PM Wrath 18''s all-round and it looked great.
