I just got some Lyndall Z+ pads for my springer... Is there something special involved in changing the pads on the springer front end? is it something I should take on or am I just better off taking it to a shop and have it done by a wrench

I like to do most of the smaller stuff to my bikes, but believe me, I am no wrench by any stretch of the imagination. If you don't have one yet, I highly recommend purchasing a service manual. It is the best $60 you will ever spend on your bike, other than gas.

Well I did take a whack at it last night and it wasn't bad at all. Just undo two bolts that hold the caliper, undo screw that holds the pad, replace with new pads bolt everything back and voila. I do however have one question. Do you guys have any play in the front caliper. I tightened both screws to torq specs but I do notice some play. I had never noticed this 'till now. Do you all have this? Is this by design? or did I phuck something up

Here is a picture of my 1995 Softail springer. The bike is a special color called Moon-glo, When I got the bike it was 100% stock, except for the pipes, and carb. As you can see it has a "little" engine work, drag bars, badlander, and a few pieces of extra chrome.I also removed the sissy bar, luggage rack, and the extra tri-lights on the front. I am putting on braided lines on it next week, and running the wires through the drag bars. There are many more mods to come, I just need to slow up right now...the wife doesn't know how much I have spent so far!! Thumbnail Image
