I thought it was isolated to street bob owners, but there are some serious chromophobes with rods also......

Hi everyone im new to the Vrod forums but let me first start off by saying i love this site and its great.
I have a 05 Black Cherry VROD and i love her i have had it now for 1 year and its got less then 4000 miles on it but now i have a problem
with it and its got me kinda worried. Its leaking oil from the right back engine head where the bolts hold the head on it leaks in 2 places middle and right bolt. It only leaks when the engine is hot and if i ride it down 81 freeway it blows oil on both sides of the bike on frame, pipes ect.
Its a light film, I was wondering if this is a very serious problem or maybe the head gasket is blown.
Thanks for any responses and i tried to post a pic but it says file is to large.

Thanks
John

This is off topic for this section so I'll keep it short. Check the breather on the back jug where it goes into the air box. Make sure it is connected and tight. There should be a hose clamp on it to tighten down.:)

Eazy...it's a '03.  Check out MY100s sig.  I as well like the paint...someone did a real nice job.  That's probably the only "looks" issue I have with my rod.  The chrome gets lost in the silver paint.  I'm not a chromeafobe but, it would help bring out the bike with a darker coat on her.

Enjoy the ride MY100!

I'm not a huge fan of the black but in this case, that rod looks strong, bad as s--- and awesome.  Damn good job on that bike in my opinion KoolinHarley!  Can't see how you guys deal with the forward controls on your set up though.  Looks painful from a older guy's perspective!

Sweet!

I feel the same way about mid-foot. The ability to stretch out the legs is nice.

Thanks! I don't think age has anything to do with it. The trick is to settle with yourself that it's not going to be a long distance bike, and prepare to appreciate stop lights.

Wish this one was mine. It was the only one in my folders that was the right size. I suck at getting the pics to the right size for downloading on here. Any advise would be welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

Will
