We lost my Dad this Christmas and going thru his things we found this pic.

Tell you what, after your old man has given you grief (good naturedly) about bikes
your entire life, it's quite a feeling to find something like this in his bureau after he's
gone.

Does anyone care to shed a little light on what model or year this might be? My
G.G. uncle Joe (older fella in pic) was still living in 59, the year I was born, but
thats pretty much all I know about it really.

Thanks in advance,

1976 XLH - This is my first post here.  Had a '95 sporty that was wrote off when I was rear ended by a Road King at a stop light.  Took a couple years off and played with a cage ('67 Jeep CJ5).  Can't get the 2 wheel thing out of my blood though so I am back.

Here some before pics as I got her.  She's in several different pieces right now.  I will start a progressive build-along on the ironhead section.

Purchased my 31 vl in 1977, paid a whopping $450.00.This bike had a 1919 sidecar attached to it
and a older car tire welded on .I finally finished an amatuer restoration in the 80's and rode it to work several times and around town.I just recently started a tear down and new restoration to try and make it as accurate as possible.Happy motoring!

I love the old honda CB series... i picked up an old CB350 i am working on now... i have had CB750's in the past... i will post some pics of some of my dads choppers when i get them scanned... he built some BAD @$$ bikes when he was my age... we are going to do it agiain... guess that is where i get the oil in the veins from!
I am going to turn it into a small little bobber for friend to ride when they come into town... if you notice it is a 350 twin... not as common as the 350k4... any tips would be cool... ill get some of the Harleys up ASAP!!!

The Bike Is In My Signature, i don't need any more pics than that one. 1978 Low Rider. The Story behind the bike is quite interesting. My Dad bought the bike Used in 1981 it had 78 miles on it and all kinds of Motorwork done. Branch Heads, Heavy Duty Cam, Sturgis Belt drive, Drag Pipes S&S Super B Carb, imaculate. So naturally being a 19 year old kid, he beat the piss out of the bike. When my brother was born in 84 i suppose it calmed him down a bit, then when my brother was four he made the ultimate mistake a father could make, sitting on the porch he told my brother "When You turn 18, this baby will be yours." Keep in mind i'm not saying giving your son your bike is a bad idea, i plan to do it too. But when you tell a 4 year old something, they hold you to it. Unfortunatly We were forced to sell the bike to buy a house when i was born(i guess i was the spoiler. So for his 16th birthday my brother got a 1985 honda nighthawk, and proceded to beatthe piss out of it. The Summer before my brother turned 18 we bought the bike back. 10 years later 200 miles later. The bike was in rough shape. The S&S was gummed up. The Sturis Belt drive was totally efffed. So we through a primo on it, worked the carb out(the adjustable main had been pulled out So instead of the recommended 72 it was a 120) And got her back on the road. Well, conveniently my brothers honda blew up ON his 18th birthday, and he claimed what was his. Unfortunatly, my brother is a racer, he lives his life in the redline. And a 25 year old bike can't handle that, so she broke...a lot. So when i got a 500 ninja for a starter bike, my brother initiated the trade. A Bike I paid 400 dollars for i traded for a bike that appraised at 18,000 dollars minimum before she gets repainted. Since i have put higher profile tires(the back tire is new in the back, the front is still old.) And am hoping to put Single fire electronic ignition in REAL soon.
