I have an 06 Heritage Softail EFI with screamin eagle 2 slip ons a Team Ness Big sucker stage 1 and a PC3, got my bike dyno tuned today at Stock Mild to Wild in Jacksonville Florida, they gave me a printout showing HP and torque before and after. Before 76.3 HP and 78.1 max torque. After 80.5 HP and 82.9 max torque runs real good. Anyone else get better #'s with similar equipment.
Be safe out there

My bike, a 2003 Fatboy EFI came with SE II off road only pipes. The bike has run OK but developed a bad habit of backfireing during deceleration. I got a series "E" SERT on Ebay and downloaded the map for softail with SE slip-ons and the SE aircleaner - MAP 105HO103. It improved rideability some, no more backfires but that was about it. Thursday my Zipper Air Cleaner Kit came in, well what a difference this made. Performance improved as expected but it also made quite a difference in the exhaust note. Even the wife commented on how it lowered the exhaust note and made the bike sound less tinny and strangled (her term, but I had to agree). I am extremly satisfied with the way the bike runs now. I wonder what a dyno tune would do? Would I be better to take the $300-$400 and spend on getting the heads flowed verses the dyno tune? Any comments? Has anyone with a similar setup had a dyno tune, if so could you post the SERT MAP. Thanks!!

Anyone got a PC-IIII map for Supertrapp 2:1 / K&N RK-3909 combo?

I've got a '06 FLHXi Street Glide (injected).  Bought in early July, and logged just under 9K miles on 'er already (Connecticut to Sturgis was a big chunk ...).  So far, mechanicals are still bone stock ...

The Plan:
I'm looking at the Supertrapp 2:1 exhaust (to give 'er a little more bark), with the K&N RK-3909 air kit; with the backing plate (to give 'er a little more bite).  I've run a Supertrapp / K&N combo on my shovelhead for years, and I'm a fan of both products, so I'd like to try the same combo on the Twin-Cam.

To map the fuel injection, I was planning on going with the Power Commander PC-IIIR, but only if it saves me the cost (and my bike the thrashing) of dyno-tuning.  If I've gotta' pay for the dyno-tune, I might just spring for the SERT - if the cost is similar, I prefer replacing the stock computer (with the SERT) vs. "tricking" it (with the Power Commander).  Or, option 3, get pipes for an '07 (with the O2 sensor holes in them), and then go with a Daytona Twin Tech TCFI Fuel Injection Controller (which, apparently, tunes itself???).  But my first choice is the lower-cost option; the PC-IIIR, without the dyno-tuning, except ...

The Problem
I don’t see any maps for the Supertrapp 2:1 or the K&N kit on the Power Commander website.  They've got maps for the 2:1 Thunderheader, and maps for the Screaming Eagle air kit, but nothin' for either the Trapp or the K&N.  I read an article that benched the K&N kit, the SE kit, and the Ness Big Sucker, and it showed the Big Sucker flowed the most volume ('cause it's got no backing plate ... not great when it rains ...), with the K&N a close second.  The SE kit flowed quite a bit less than the K&N, so, I'm thiking, if I download a map for the SE air cleaner, it'd run lean, right?  Also, the Thunderheader & Supertrapp 2-into-1's are quite a bit different as well, so I'm not sure how that'd work out, if I load a Thunderheader map.  So it's starting to look like I'd have to dyno-tune, even with the PC-III - or go with something else.

Can anyone offer any suggestions / assistance?  Anyone got a PC-III map for the Supertrapp / K&N combo?  How 'bout a sound clip of the Supertrapp 2:1 on a Twin-Cam?    (I've never actually seen a twin-cam bike with a Supertrapp 2:1, so if anyone's got a sound clip of one, that'd be awesome!

BTW; I e-mailed Supertrapp a while back, but no reply.  Guess their customer support isn’t the greatest, but I do like their products.  Anyway, any help you folks can provide will be appreciated!!

How is your gas mileage? The map I have from fuelmoto is running pretty good, but I'm not getting much mileage. 30-35 when i was in the 40-43 range.
Its much leaner than the map you are using.

Well I am about four months late on this one.  Sorry.

I would say my mileage is in the mid 30s.  I was hoping for a bit better than that, but I cannot complain in the least about how the bike runs.  I did notice that when I rode in some cooler weather (mid 50s), I did start to notice a sort of semi-popping on decel.  It never fully popped, but it felt like it wanted to.  I am sure it has to do with the dense cold air pulled into the intake.  Been parked since just after Thanksgiving.

I would like to ask a few questions.  I have a 05 RKC, stage 1 down load, air filter and HD SE slip ons with a RT ECM.  Runs great, but back fires and I have tried everything I can think of.  Here is the question.  Are you running the PCIII over the stage1 download (meaning you ECM is no longer stock)?  If so, are you getting backfire when you roll off the thorttle?  Did you have another tuner on you bike prior to the PMIII?

Totally amazed that folks with the most sophisticated for the buck ECM and interface are toilet tradin their money for PCIII's and such garbage.  You got the ECM so go buy the SERT and do a data session to find the engine details.  I simply plugged mine in and ran a data session and tuned out the 'knock retard" by adding teeny bits of fuel in the range where the timing was retarded for knock control.  Totally diffferent bike after minuscle changes in the map.  Mileage is unaffected by adding some fuel in particular places as the advance in timing by reduced "knocK" improves efficency.  Simple stuff.  No one makes as good an interface or ECM control as Harley.  Go buy A SERT on Ebay and tune your engine right.

Got tired of trying to schedule a date with my dyno guy, so I went ahead and installed my performance parts and a canned map.  So far with temps in the 30-40F range here in the midwest, quite pleased with the results [or maybe it's that I'm not so picky?].

Jamie,

I've got an 06 SG. Stage 1 ECM, SEII's with BCT baffles, SE A/C, 8 deg. injectors, O2 Eliminators, and the PCIII USB. Would appreciate a good map. The one I'm running now is too rich and I have some decel pop.

Running a SERT MAP #23 (141NP101) for a 1450cc engine and 8 degree injectors.  VH Big Radius pipes and a Arlen Ness Big Sucker stage 1 air cleaner.  Starts fine, great acceleration and power.  Thinking about running MAP #24 (141NQ102) for a 1550cc engine, from what I have read MAP #23 is still a little lean from people that have had their bike on a dyno.

Since I've started riding this Spring, I have noticed poping on decel, but I truly believe the reason is the denser cooler air leaning the AFR out.  I tried the 805-008 and in some ways it was better, but it also fell on its face at certain RPMs.  If you look at the fuel table, you'll see that apparently the 2001 ECM is only capable of mapping at very broad RPM ranges.  The newer maps (for 2006 ECMs) show fueling adjustments at smaller RPM increments.

Not happy with the popping on decel, I started looking for a different map and found 805-217 for Supertrapp's Long Mean Mothers.  I feel these pipes are probably closer to the Longshots than the Big Shots Long map 805-212.  I uploaded to the PC III yesterday and put about 20 miles on it.  I still had the pop, but it seemd to be a little less.  I still want to ride it some more but with my full face.  With the full face, I hear the pipes better.  With the half-helmet, I hear mostly wind.  I'll try this afternoon and report back.  If this doesn't work, I may resort to tweaking the fuel table on my own in an effort to get rid of the decel pop.  Or I may just richen the RPM ranges using the buttons on the PC III itself.  When the weather warms up, I think it'll be a non-issue.

Bottom line: with lack of good tuners around me,  I really see a TMAT in my future. Until then, I think I'll have to keep a cooler weather map at the ready.
