71 sporty clutch cable return

IS THERE SUPPOSED TO BE A RETURN SPRING ON PRIMARY COVER THAT HOOKS TO THATHOOK THAT HOLDS THE CLUTCH CABLEON THE PRIMARY COVER? I CANNOT GET MY CABLE TO RETURN. I HAVE NEW CABLE. THERE IS A HOLE IN THE ASSEMBLY THAT HOLDS THE CABLE THAT LOOKS TO BE FOR A SPRING. I DIDN'T FIND ANY LOOSE PIECES LAYING AROUNDWHEN TOOK IT APART.

on the old ones, yeah, that screw type release, not the ball and ramp.

thanks for the reply. i found that theprongs that hold the clutch cable need to face towards the cover side not the clutch. it was binding on the cover.
