Default Please help identify this bike

This is an old photo of my friends Uncle at Daytona (not certain of year). He would like to know a little information about the motorcycle.
Can anyone please indentify this bike? If the picture dosen't come through I'll try again.

Many Thanks,

TK, It looks to be a late forty's pan - 1948 perhaps. The photo doesn't showenough of the motor to be certain of the head configuration, but based omn style and badging, i'd say '48 pan.

Im going with cramfan. believe its a knuckle. And based on the fact that it looks pretty much stock I will say its a 47...that based on tank emblems (first year for those) and what look likes the locktite bags (used for 47 models)

Many Thanks to One and All,

I will forward this info. to my friend. I'm sure he is going to want to research this bike further.
It looks similar to the one my Great Uncle rode when he was a Motor Cop in Reidsville N.C. way back in the day.

Thanks Again,

It definatley is NOT a knuckle.
It is most probably a 1948 as dictated by the tank badge, this is the same year of the pan head and was the last for the springer front end. 1948 saw both the end of the springer and the rise of the hydrolic telescopic fork aka Duo-glide
