Default Want it loud

Hello all. I have been looking forward to getting a V-rod since HD started promoting them. Well, I should be picking up my 2006 Night Rod in Cobalt Blue next weekend. She has 2800 miles on her and upgrades include windsheild, cool footpegs, touring seat, touring passeager seat, sissybar and touring backrest, luggage rack, d&d exaust (bolt on), k&n air filter, flame handgrips, chrome lic plate frame, and chrome swingarm covers. Picking it up for $12,500 and getting stock parts as well.

I have listened to the D&D exhaust from their website and even though it sounds good I don't really like the look of the full length pipes. I also prefer loud so wondering what exhaust I should be looking for to make it LOUD and short pipes. Second customization will be sending all painted panels to a guy I know who does killer authentic looking flames and have a nice blue flame paint job done. Here is an example of his work:

Here is the bike as it sits now:

Thanks,

Glenn

Take a look at my Reinhardt 2 in one pipes.
I am not real crazy about the looks, but I love the sound and the volume.
If short is the look you may like these.

I have a 2004 vrod, I put rinehart staggered exhaust. The sound is extremely loud, little expensive $800.00 but well worth it

Well, picked up the bike today and brought it home (8 hour drive). Took it for a nice little ride when I got home. The D&D slip ons are not gonna cut it lol. More of a high pitched pop than a throaty growl that I am looking for. Other than that the ride was awesome. Corners very nice and doesn't take long to get to 120. Will take some pics and post in a couple of days.

Congratulation on a fine purchase. There are several short pipe manufacturers, all of which will be loud.

If you want the throaty sound, the rinehart staggered 2-2 pipes are definitely it, they are so loud no one likes riding behind me when we ride

Thanks for the info guys and gals. Think I have settled on the CFR 2-1 with PCIII. Just looks like all the shorties that I liked (Jug Huggers, etc) were a problem with mid mount controls.

i don't know your definition of loud, but the screaming eagles on the rental rod i took out this weekend were pretty throaty and turned a lot of heads.

There are a lot of people that say that the jug huggers are too loud. How loud is too loud? Will they be louder then my Ironhead with drag pipes? Are they louder then a 100+CI Big Twin with drag pipes? Are they louder then a F/A 18 on full afterburner? How loud are they?

I decided to order the Jug Huggers anyway and if there is such a thing as too loud I suppose I can always put baffles in.
