Hey everybody! Been lurking in the background for quite some time and now I found a reason to post. I was talking with my neighbor about an issue I could not seem to find an answer for. I've been experiencing a leak somewhere on the bottom of my motor and haven't been able to find the cause so my neighbor told me to use JB Weld on the oil plug and if that is where it is coming from it would stop the problem. I need to change the oil and I can't seem to get the bolt off.[] Any suggestions? My wife is not going to be happy as she thinks I spend too much money on this thing as it is.

My suggestion is that you take it in to dealer/indy and tell them what you used (or call and get advice) From the JBWeld web-site: EMPAHSIS ON PERMANENT!

Oh crud. I have just about rounded the top of the screw with a cresent wrench. I'm going to call my dealership and see if they can get to it. I want to ride tomorrow. It is my day off.[&o] I was searching Google and something about drilling it out. How do you do this?

Wondered about that too - if the reference to 500 degrees is the breaking point. If the cap is rounded from attempting to remove, I would get some professional help before something else gets seriously messed up. IMHO. May be one of those cases where it is cheaper to take it in now than after something is seriously broke!

Guys, it's hot as he11 out here and I can't budge the screw. I'm sweating like a fat lady in church. I've warmed it up with a hammer and it still will not come off. I'm going to speak with him this afternoon.He helped me with my brakes andput some of this stuff on my axles when replacing thebolts. He assured me that they would notvibrate loose. I hope I don't have to get a lawyer. My wife is going to be PO'd when she gets home from work.[:@] I've got to get this fixed asap.[]

This has got to be a prank!

1. What kind of complete dumba$$ would JB Weld his drain plug?

2. Who would try to remove a "JB Welded" in drain plug with a cresent wrench?

With your post that you haveused J&B weld on your drain plug then stripped the plug with a crescent wrench I suggest you step away from the bike and throw away your tools. Go next door and punch your neighbor in the mouth.Take it to the dealer and confess your ignorance in mechanical aptitude. Then ask them to drain it at the port next to the original drain plug. There is a 3/8" allen plug there where a bunch of us install the oil temp sensor when we install the oil temp Gage. I apologize for being so harsh but if you have been lurking here for long you realize that you have it coming! This appears to be a Bounty Hunter Alias or close acquaintance.

This has got to be a spoof..no one is stupid enough to use JB Weld for threadlock..guess you could call it black loctite ...and I thought red loctite was bad.
