I picked up my 2008 SERK yesterday. Black and Silver. What a sweet ride,a bitmore plush than my SE Fat Boy. Those Brembo brakes are a big improvement, even when they're brand new. Here's a tip for anyone that gets a new SERK: read the owner's manual section about the brakes, especially ifyour riding technique includes downshifting for slowing. The throttle response is a bit different as well. It seems that from a standing start a bit more twist is needed than "normal." But once rolling, the ETCresponse is very quick, almost as if it's reading your mind. I rode about 150 miles yesterday and I didn't want to stop. I'll post some pics soon.
Yes please pictures soon.
I have a deposit on one.
Hopefully next week it will show up.
How do you like the color?
Does it have the standard fuel gauge?

I like the Black Diamond color. It's not as flashy as the blue and yellow on my SE Fat Boy and doesn't draw as much attention. It's a more subdued paint scheme and looks more stock than custom.
Thanks for the answers.
My other bike is a '06 Fatboy also but not an SE.(I did put a 95ci in it though)
I guess I don't have to ask if you think the SE versions are worth the extra money.
My feelings about the colors are the same as yours but I only have had pictures to go by.
I've never ridden a Road King before, so I hope I like the ride as good or better than my Fatboy.
Took the SERK out last night to continue the break-in. I noticed more "chatter" from the motor. Sounded like valve-train chatter.Very loudbetween 2000-3000 rpm on acceleration and deceleration. As soon as I get to 3000+ rpmthe chatter simply disappears. Early in the ride, while sitting at a stop sign, there was a pop / backfire through the exhaust and the motor quit. It started up without a problem but it concerned me. The exhaust note when backing off the throttle just doesn't sound right. It may just be me getting used to the sound difference between the SERK and the SEFB. Or maybe a little bit of my ears hearing something that isn't there.
Regardless, I plan to call the dealer this morning and tell them to come pick it up and find out what's going on with the motor. I'll share the results when I have something to share.
