Default What's the best way to seal off the chain oiler?

A previous owner of my bike disconnected the chain oiler. I assume he did so to install the cross over exhaust. No matter why he did it, I now have a plugged line from my oil pump that goes to nowhere. The line is plugged, but not sealed. As a result, I am spraying oil all over my exhaust, and what doesn't burn and stick to the exhaust pipe is blowing back or dripping down onto everything behind everything above and below the plugged line. I have lost as much as a quart of oil in as few as 100 miles. In addition to the mess, there is the added expense of oil, and those are two things I would like to greatly reduce, if not eliminate. I've thought about putting on a longer piece of hose and folding it back on itself several times (kinda like an accordian) and then clamping it off, but if there is a better way, I would rather do it that way. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In my defense, I bought it used & for 10¢ more they would have sold me an orange one w/ chrome.

There's a fitting there. Unscrew it and get a NPT plug of the proper size. Not sure why this is a dilemma? Seems simple enough but maybe I'm missing something.

A local indy shop owner indicated that the oil was working its way up and around the threads. So, I am not sure that the NPT plug is the answer. I was looking for a better way to plug & seal. However, I will check size and try the right size plug

I'm a little late but it's a 1/16-27x1/4" pipe plug, part #50-8332that and a little #2 permatex on the threads.

Add some teflon should seal it right up. Works on my bike.

Funny you should ask. I just resolved this very issue on a 75 FLH for my buddy. Hopefully this url will link and the whole solution is there. Also check to insure the primary is vented to preclude forcing oil out. Good luck.
