I've got an '07 Heritage Classic, 3 weeks old and already 2000 miles. I need a back rest and am thinkin about the one in the Harley catalog. Anybody have one or know of them? $500 bucks for a backrest (replaces whole seat, but I've already got a seat) is high, but if it works and is comfortable...

I had one and returned it. It moved me forward too much.
I also tried this backrest from firehousecustoms
It looks like he has one now for the '07 and '08 models, Its a very well made back rest if you want to keep your stock seat, it will move you up about and inch or so.
have the signature series the new one, says it fits the 07 fatboy.. it doesnt, too short...maybe with a streched tank.. but thats not stock..
the sear isnt solid either.. it shifts back n forth while on the bike..(sorta)
other than that its a good seat
but im either selling it or returning it soon.(monday prob)
My dealer where I just bought my bike says if you bolt it up, you bought it... How far did it push you forward?
Probably an inch or so, I dont have highway pegs so it felt like my feet were jammed under the controls. but I have long legs so I need to go back not forward. It was a very well made seat.
I bought it at Zanotti's, They credited me back after I sent the seat back to them, I was just out the shipping both ways.
Or, you might get rid of the geezer boards and try a set of forward controls. No more turning your feet sideways or dragging your toes behind you. Stretch out and ride it like it's supposed to be ridden, a motorcycle. I am 47 and it's the best thing I have ever bought for this bike. Less than $300 if you do it yourself.
