How are the bolts/studs attached to the plate? Are they finished/painted?
Thanks,

The studs are PEM Fasteners, they are press fit into an under size hole.  You'll need a big hammer to remove them.  The finish is black paint, paint is use as rust prohibitor since most of the bracket can't be seen once installed.

Cool, Thanks. I was wondering about them spinning when removing the nuts, after being 'in service' for a while. How far away from the fender is the plate? From the pics it looks like less than a 1/4 inch.

Nothing.  The way I figured it, the stock bracket doesn't have anything under it, I'll always need a license plate, and if I deceide togo side mount in the future I'll plug and paint the fender anyway.  I'v had my brkt. on my bike since March with no sign of wear.

The studs should hold a lifetime, don't torque um down or anything.  They just need to be snugged up with some blue loctite.  It lays super low, without going out and measuring I'd say 1/4" at it's tallest point.  But, it still picks up decent light from the tail light.

Nice lookin work RIDA.

I will definately order this from you.

Better yet, I have a question first -

can you do one for me that would also accomodate
the Texas inspection sticker (3" wide x 2" high)??

I understand this is more complicated as there would need to be a bend
down for the sticker area.

If your answer to my question is no,
I can weld on the extra piece.

edited to change that to -

there would need to be a bend *UP* for the sticker area.

No problem Mud, I'll get ya whatever you need.  You want the tab bent up on the top of the bracket so that it doesn't block the light from your tail light?
