Hey Bagger, I just researched this for a week on here. There are a lot of them out there, and the board guys
recommend quite a few, but I wanted one for reasons like you, to get the scooter up for cleaning better. I have
space limitations, so needed one that could be stored in my garage in a cabinet easely, which meant picking it
up, so I got the Yellow Aluminum Sears one people take about here. It's rated at 1500 lbs and holds my fatboy
very well. It's about 160 dollars. Just my 2 cents.

I got the one from pepboys, although i only use mine a couple of times a year to change the oil (really once a year). it was cheap like 30 bucks on sale. I would not of gotten this one if i was going to use it to clean my bike once a month or more.
most people on here buy the craftsman for 80 bucks. i think is the best bet.

People have opinions on jacks/lifts like they have on oil. The Sears Yellow Aluminum jack was the one I narrowed it down to but happened to be at the right place and the right time and picked up a 1 yr old used 3 times HD lift for $125. Both are comparable but would have never gotten the HD lift if it wasn't for the good deal (HD sells their brant for around $350 but one can get the Sears Yellow for around $149 on sale.

just get the best and get a PITBULL lift I have a craftsman red all I use it for is to clean under my lawn tractor

From the look of your bike it has some coin into it. Iam guessing you got well over $23 K....Those rims alone are smoking hot......The chrome front end package must be over $600.....Sounds and looks like you will be cleaning and maintaining that bike alot. I had the cheap little lift just to get by, and watch it flex left to right when jacking the bike. Even had the locks screw in to prevent wobble, but in the back of my mind I NEVER TRUSTED that lift. I was finally convinced that my bike was not going anywhere, I enjoyed having a clean bike from top to bottom, my back was not getting any younger, and decided to buy a Handy lift. I bought a used model and rebuilt the air cylinder seals for 20$. Til today ALL my friends ask if the lift is available, so they can clean their bike or fix something. Great way to have the friends over, and keeps the wife wondering why? New they run $700-$800

I bought the J&S from reading this forum.
So far it works great, well constructed and it moves my Ultra around my basement with ease.

20,000 for a scoot...a few K more for accesories and chrome...
Trusting a CHEAP lift? NOT ON YOUR LIFE.
J&S or Pitbull...The ONLY way to go. Personally, I have the J&S, picks up the Ultra, or the Deluxe with no issues and rock solid when lifted. I can roll it around the garage with the bike in the air WITHOUT strapping it down, and I have no worries about doing so.
Had a cheap lift...(Sears) and junked the darned thing after only 6 months..Bike was to unstable in the air.

I use the craftsman lift (red) $60. on sale...have had zero problems with it....

I bought a 1000lb air / hyd lift from Harbor Frieght for $360 and it was the best thing I ever bought to save the back. I have been using it ALOT for all my maintenance and cleaning and you just can't beat it! It even has the drop out floor for the rear wheel. I use a scissor jack to lift the whole bike up while on the lift to remove both wheels at once. You can pump it up with the foot hyd pump or attach to your air. It is heavy gage steel and well made. You can also get it in the 1200 lb version but, it will handle anything HD makes.

I have a craftsman red lift and it does everything that it claims it will.
It is also a great tool in limited space. I still use it from time to time, but, I use my TEC lift for most usage. It lifts the bike 30 inches in about 4 in increments and I can roll around on the wheeled seat and everything is at eye level. The rear of the lift drops out for easy removal of the rear wheel. I often wonder why I waited so long. The work I am more ready to do, now that I don't have to crawl on the floor on my hands and knees, has more than paid for the lift a few times over. Without a bike on it and while it's in the highest position it's easy to move around and can be put to the side of the garage real easy and can become a bench as well.

I checked out the red and yellow by standing on it and just transferring my weight from side to side and . . . well . . . no way in hell am I putting by bike on that jack. Really, the extra money to get a J&S or another quality jack is well worth the piece of mind, not to mention the lifetime warranty and the safety that you just do not get with a cheaper jack. Alot of people have bought a cheap jack and have regretted it, but no one has bought a better jack and have regretted it. Just look at the reviews on sears website on their jacks. Also, there is a video on YouTube showing the instability of the yellow one. My .02
