Default wheel bearing oil seal

Is it necessary to replace the oil seal when you remove it to grease the bearings? I know the manual says to replace, but they say the same about the primary gasket and I have reused mine twice so far with no leaks, I also reuse o-rings and copper washers on banjo fittings. I've worked on other vehicles that used an oil seal, some I could reuse others I couldn't, but I have never removed one on a Harley. I'm not trying to be cheap, I'm just lazy and hate going out to buy parts in the middle of a job.

Alot easier to replace it at the same time than pull the wheel again ( especially the rear ) .
I would say ya got a 50/50 shot .

That's kind of what I figured, I went ahead and got the seals, like $3.50 each. Thanks for the replies.

I'm interested to see how you are going to remove it without tearing it up ?

I've always destroyed mine during removal.
