Z, can’t go wrong with V&H slipons. Big performance improvement over stock. The bike spins up mid and high rpm’s quicker and runs smoother at low rpm’s too. Loud. I swapped in the quiet baffles, which aren’t. A good balance between performance and sound. 07 SG, SE AC, SERT w/dyno tune.
V&H's slip-on's standard baffle, SE satge 1 A/C, V&H Fuelpak...First time I started her up after installing those items;DAMN!!! You should have seen the sh*t eating grin I had, and still have EVERYTIME I start her up and ride her around. Better throttle response, WAY louder...Not sure what you'll gain, other than sound, if you don't put the other upgrades on too...

IMHO they sound great. 07 Street bob still looking to upgrade air filter and fuelpak, but think the slipons are great. Good throttle response. I fire it up and love the sound. Deep sound, but normal enough to start the bike and let idle at 6 a.m. without the neighbors hating me(just yet). Get on it and my other neighbor, with vance and hines long shots, was a bit embarressed. Let me know what you end up with, gl.
Z...the vance and hines slip ons have been great on my street bob...great sound and a small gain in response over stock...I still have the stock A/C and was told as long as I kept the A/C stock I did not have to remap the fuel injection, which was true. At first when you put them on your bike will feel underpowered, however you have to ride it for about half an hour, so the O2 sensors can adjust, after that you will feel the gain and love the sound
If you change the air cleaner you will need to remap/retune the EFI or rejet the carb. Easiest way is to get the fuel pack from vance and hines, the PCIII from fuel moto, or a SERT from the stealer. The PCIII and SERT can really be tweaked by the indy's on the dyno.
Stock Harely's run lean, if you free up the air intake you are going to make it more lean, combine that with less restrictive pipes and you will run way to hot. You can get a download from the dealer to richen it up but I wouldn't count on being happy with the performance.
