Default oil blowing everywhere

I've read just about everything I could find on this siteabout oil where you don't want it. I currently owe three of my buddies a full bike detailing for the last time we rode and I swamped them as I rode past. I inherited a 65 pan from my wife's dad this spring. It had a full rebuild, and he was killed by a drunk driver before ever getting to ride it. I have zero desire to change anything that he had done, because in my eyes, he just loaned it to me for a while. I have put about 700 miles on it so far, and it has never given me any problems until the last ride when it coated the leftside of the bike (and some friends[:@]) with what appears to be a leak right at the back of the primary cover. Here are some things I have found...
There is an external oil filter on it(mounted in front)
There are numerous oil lines plugged off
There is a nipple at the back trannyside corner of the primary cover with nothing hooked up
There is a vent or drain line within 3 inches of that nipple that looks like fresh oil is on it
I pulled the primary cover and found a belt drive( that isn't stock, is it?)
My oil pan is aftermarket, and was nearly empty when I got her home
My Clymer manual does not have a diagram of oil line routing
There wasa bit of oil in the primary case, but no gasket. Does this mean it should be dry for the most part?

Sorry this is so long, but I am at my wits end.
Thanks in advance for any insights/suggestions.

Was the luber to primary still working? With a belt its no longer needed.Trans shaft seal may be leaking, some engine gasket,or crank seal.External lines also.Breather may be puking oil but should cease after lower end is purged. Was the bike siiting for awhile since last ride?Did you cover your friends early in the ride?A primary belt drive should be able to see some cooler air and not run tight.A primary gasket has no function but lessens metal to metal if ever reconverting to chain setup. Not sure what nipple youre seeing at back of trans. It sounds like some things will need cleaned up or you may not be riding.

Default RE: oil blowing everywhere

The oil pump has a metering screw that allows an adjustment for the oil flow to the primary chain. The 60's were great bikes but they went back and forth with dry and wet clutches. Since the bike has a primary belt drive, it's only reasonable that it has a dry clutch so no oil is needed at all. Therefore the primary oiler bleed screw should be against its seat in the oil pump. If it is, and it has the cast iron pump, the seat it cracked and will flow a significant amount of oil and if the primary recovery hose is not connected as it should be, oil will be all over the place. I don't know which pump you have, but both the cast iron and the later style aluminum pump have the primary oil bleeder adjustment screw. First check to see which you have, then check the bleeder screw....The cast iron one is on the side of the pump at the top, the aluminum one is at the top back of the pump. It may be a good idea to connect the return or scavenge line back to the primary since that would have kept the oil from flying, but would ruin your clutch.
