Default Starter Relay

I want to convert my old shovel to a newer style relay, trying to find a wiring diagram of how it would be wired,,,think the smaller compact relay would look alot better

Thanks

Try this on for size...see attached wiring diagram to wire up a late style relay:

Note: The relay will have 5 male spade connectors. They are numbered.Connect theone that says "30" to the positive side of the battery, preferrably through a 30 amp breaker; #86 to ground; #87 to starter solenoid; and, #86 to starter switch/button. Ignore the connector in the middle of the relay. Wire up the rest according to the diagram and/or your bike's wiring schematic.

Good luck.

Also, when you wash your bike, make sure you don't spray water directly onto the relay. Water will get in there and short out the relay, unless you've shrinked-wrap the sucka first. Sure looks a lot betta than that big bulky old-style relay!
