Since the inception of the Helen rides, we have all had the opportunity to meet new people, socialize and have a good time. Thanks to Gordon (back again), we have found several new routes to get to Helen. While these routes have been somewhat challenging to some of the newer riders, us grizzly vets keep grinding footboards through the turns! As with the previous Helen rides, we all had a blast!! It was good to have Alex rejoin us since he was the one who organized the very first Helen ride. Today was somewhat solumn. One of our newest riders Mark, lost his Father earlier this week. Today's ride was in his Honor.
We are looking to ride again on November 4th. We hope all can join the ride and make one hell of a convoy through the mountains to Helen. We hope to get Andre, Mark, Gary, and all who have been riding with us to join us for the November ride. So, put on your big girl panties and biker up!!

David and I will be there! Riding the twisties the second time around was a blast for me. Don't know what it was, but it was definately relaxing. Was also nice to see Dean leading the pack and kicked back on his ride hitting those turns! That is, when I was able to catch a quick glimpse of him....he was ROLLIN'!!! But, he did slow it down to let us catch up. Guess he wanted to get a couple of turns like he likes 'em!
On our ride back to middle GA, Robert treated me to more twisties on HWY 356/97 (I believe it was 97) while enroute to HWY 441. Those were some good ones! Lots of lefts/rights back to back and very little traffic.

My thanks go out to all of you for dedicating the October ride to my father. He was 84 yeas old and had seen many times including the depression and world war II. He was a veteran, though I don't think he ever saw combat, and made me proud to have served as well. All 3 of his sons were there including the youngest who now lives in Germany and we all served our country as soldiers just like our father before us. We were honored to give on last salute to a great man. It is truly an honor to ride with you and know that many of you also serve, or have served, our country. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you on Saturday for the benifit ride and then again on November 4th.
Thanks Brian, but remember, if you're not draggin boards, you probably need a Goldwing! [sm=joke.gif]Even wingers can scrape. It was enjoyable leading as I usually don't assume that role, I kinda stay to the rear to watch out for everyone. I guess its a career hazard.
I now have five mugs and will keep at least two in the bags at all times. Glad SB finally has a mug so maybe he will stop asking me for one. again, [sm=joke.gif]
Can't wait till the next!!
Biker up Girls!! Lets RIDE!!!
Hmmmm.....a Goldwing? Wonder how much I can get for one on a trade-in? Hear they are much quieter.........plus, I can put all those lights around the front and back to make it look like a christmas tree on 2 wheels.
Nah....I'll stick to my Heritage Softail Classic. She's been very good to me.
