Called Montgomery HD yesterday @ 4:30 about a tire for my RK. They said to bring it on @ 8:30 today. I got there at 8:20 they signed me in and rolled her back for the tire change. First name basis with the parts and service guys, (they started it). Friendly bunch of folks. Paul Hale is the GM. He runs a nice store. Prices and labor are pretty much HD.

Apol's in Raymond, MN. So far so good. One or two employees could use a personality transplant, but that is true everywhere.

Spartanburg H-D in South Carolina.
They were understaffed but love their customers. Great place, as far as I could tell.

I purchased my Screamin Eagle at Capital City Harley Davidson in Madison Wisconsin. I feel they are the best dealer in Wisconsin. They have huge sales ie. 35% off all accessories before christmas. And will usually always sell at 20% to match Chicago HD Prices. Everyone should really give these guys a shot call the P & A Manager that is who I deal with.

Beartooth HD in Billings MT. **** 1/2

Before they moved to their new location just of I-90 in 03 they did a bit of work for me when I was passing thru.

While I was there I got to overhear them taking care of a fellow traveler who had scrambled the bottom end of his Shovel. Got him fixed up with a hotel room and a way to get his scoot home.

In 05 I hit the new store. Faces were all different, but they were still accomodating.

I always try to stop in when I am passin' thru.

My vote would go to O'toole's HD in Wurtsboro, NY. Bought my first HD there in 1982 and the owner, John O'Toole still knows me by my first name. It's a small dealership and not at glitzy as some larger dealers (don't think there is a chrome consutant there yet anyway). Have always been treated fairly by the parts and service people.

I know that **** had a problem with Moroney's in Newburgh, but I'd have to give them the thumbs up also. Bought my current ride there and had the initial service and a 95" job done last year there. George in the race shop and Denise in the sales department are all first rate. Can't comment too much on the general service folks, I've only had my 1000 mile service done there, done everything else myself.

The dealership that gets my 5 star rating?

http://www.kentscycles.com/

For all the folks here on the forum that will make it to Abilene for the Texas State HOG Rally in 2006- - you gotta meet this guy

Here's my take on Steve H - - HD sales rep - -and his customer service attitude - -(skirt fluffing going on here!) - -here it goes...

Steve H is simply the most laid back friendly, easy going, good listening salesman - (willing to lend an ear, actually listens to the customer, he actually remember what the customer said), lets the customer ask the questions, then in turn asks the questions to the customer (gets the customer to realize what type of bike is right for him/her- not the salesman's commission), then lets the customer try the bikes....he'll even greet you when you come back in the store - never to busy to say hi

But dang - -isn't that the way all HD sales reps should be? - - They are far and few between - -I have been to alot of dealerships in the VA/Maryland/PA area - - especially when I was shopping for my 05 FLHT - - sure I found the bike I wanted...but wish I had come across another Steve H!

okay - so if you stop in at Kent's - - say hi!

Carolina Harley in Gastonia, NC. (Outside of Charlotte) is a great dealer. Good knowledgable people, decent prices. Will not discount bikes off MSRP. Great selection of bikes, clothes and does a promt job with service. My wife bought my last bike from them as a surpise birthday present and they stayed late and threw a party for me and family. A year later, they still know my name and greet us when we walk in.

I don't remember the name of the dealer,,but it was in Roanoke, Virgina , Labor day weekend and the dealer was closed. We were on a trip and a buddies battery died.
Called the local Police Dept and they offered to call the owner and see if he could help.

To make a long story short, a guy came down within 30 minutes, opened the service department, got the bike inside and replaced the battery under warranty. We asked if he could open the showroom so we could spend some money to show our appreciation.
He did and we did.

I sent an e-mail the following week to the dealer to thank them for their kind service.
Turns out the fellow that opened the place was the owners son who by the way never mentioned that fact. Even better, he left the dealer and went to his Dad's for a get together and never even mentioned this to his Dad.

I had a great experience at the Harley Davidson Store of Baltimore. This was the first bike I bought from a dealer. The people were nice and treated me well. They do not given things away for free, but they seem fair. I will have my first service in a few weeks. I will see how that goes.

TSI Columbia Harley-Davidson in Cloumbia Connecticut.

Great sales, great parts people, superb service, HOG sponsor, and just an awesome dealership.

They have gone far out of their way to be sure my experience with HD is positive.

I always receive friendly hellos from everyone, always asked how my ride is, and they are willing to spend some time to chat.

Yup, I would buy another bike from them and recommend them to my buds.

Thought I'd post a good experience. Greenville Harley Davidson, Greenville, SC. In June '05 I purchased a used 883C, '05 model sold new by them. I was given a new owners manual, t-shirt, hat, key chains, beer cousy's, and 10% off on all parts purchased as long as I owned the bike. While shopping there before I bought the bike, I found the one I wanted. I had no cash on me but Tommy, the salesman said he would hold it for me until 4pm the next day. They were hosting the RedCross Charity ride that next day and expected lots of people, Lorenzo Lamas the TV star was to be there etc. I told him I hated for him to hold it that long because I couldn't get there till 3pm, he said it was no problem he could tell I wanted that bike. Well the next day I walk in at 3pm and he calls me by name and leads me over to the bike all serviced/cleaned and ready to go. Since that day everytime I walk in he calls me by name, introduces to me to whoever he is talkin' to and gets an update from me as to how many miles I have put on the bike so far. I have nothing to say but good things about Greenville HD. I hope nothing changes my opinion of them.

I live in NH and bought my bike sight unseen from Andraes H-D in Urbana Ill. They were great to deal with and the price was awesome ( I think ) The local dealer- Heritage Harley, didn't seem to be workable and if I bought a bike from them, wouldn't store it for me for 2 months without charging me $350. Sorry, If I am spending 16k on a bike and probably another 2k for accessories, I don't think storage should be an issue.

Faribault Harley Davidson in Faribault Minnesota, great sales staff, honest, great parts staff [although parts lacks inventory and needs to order everything], and a great service department with a dyno. Service manager Jason, knows his stuff and is one of the best dyno guys around.

Lake Erie Harley is just off I-90, West of Cleveland and stones throw from Lake Erie.
This is my "Home" dealership and a great place to visit. http://www.lakeerieharley.com/

20 miles to the South & owned by the same people is Elyria Harley Shop..http://www.elyriaharley.com/ I have been doing business with these two shops for 20 years. I have bought five new and several used bikes from them over that period...
Got a 1999 Ultra from them that was a stone lemon. Spent most of its first summer in the shop with me riding the owner's bike. HD failed miserably at addressing the problems. Elyria HD stepped up to the plate, on their own, and did a buyback. Harley wouldn't even give them credit on the allotment for another Ultra. They gave me a new Ultra in a straight across trade as well as giving me first dibs on the first Screamin Eagle RoadGlide that they got in.

And last but not least is Lances HD in Pa. http://www.lancesharley.com/ Bought a V-Rod from them last summer and they made the deal quick & simple. Everyone there was helpful & friendly.
