Default Worn tires already, is this normal??

I have 8K on my RKcustom and my rear tire is starting to look like a slick. I have never done a burnout, but the bike is damn near a daily driver. Is this normal for a stock tire? I am new to Harley and any recomendations would be appreciated. I get lots of city and Highway miles so a tire that will last is what im looking for. I dont really know the difference between the different brands.

Do you manage your Tire Pressure??? What T/P are you running??? When was the last time that the pressure was at 40-42 psi Cold.....

8K is pretty good, not great but pretty good for a bagger.....

Try keeping 42-44 psi in your next tire, you could get almost 10k, if you manage the pressure...

Changed mine at 8500...rode 2 up for about 5000 of that. Very little tread left at the time. It's just a fact of life..you have to change em out about every 8 to 9k miles. It was the same on my 01 Heritage also. However, front tire is a different story. Lots of tread left..just watch for the cupping that can happen after you get to 11 or 12k miles. You will know it..it feels like you are bouncing down the hiway.

I have almost 12K on the tires on my 06 FXSTI; however, they should have been replaced about 1K miles ago. I'm surprised I got that many out of them considering I didn't go a great job managing my tire pressures.

I got 18K from my stock tires. I ride fairly conservatively. But I do manage my tire pressure very closely.
I am now running ME880s and plan on 12K out of them.

I got 5,200 miles down to the wear bars yet others get well over twice this. Why the variation I don't know. Always kept the pressure right.

I have 7800 on my rear tire -07 Heritage softail- and it is almost bald. Asked the dealer why others have told me they get 10,000 or more on their older bikes and his answer was the bigger engine and torc are the reasons the tires wear out faster????? Not too sure if that is true......Front tire is good and he said I should get at least 10,000 or a little more on it. Local dealer here in NE PA is running a 20 % off deal for all of Octoberon parts and labor.. My price will be 222.00 installed and it is a white wall.
