Just a thread to keep track & discuss each win as the NE Patriots march towards the first undefeated NFL season (including the playoffs) since the '72 Dolphins. Have you seen this team & what they can do? They have absolutely no weaknesses anywhere! They are without a doubt...the greatest team ever assembled on a football field in the NFL...PERIOD. I will agree, they still have a long way to go this season & alot of games left. But if you look at their schedule, they only face 3 tough teams all season (IMO) & Dallas was one of them (who we beat by 21 points![sm=roll.gif]). Next on the list is the Colts, who will give us our biggest test yet but I'm nottoo worried about that game. Then after that will be the Steelers, who we play at home...another 20+ point victory margin predicted.
When this season is over, the Pats will have set numerous amounts of records...most amount of points scored per game in a single season, largest margin of victory points per game, most TD passes per season by a QB, most amounts of points scored per game in the post-season, largest margin of victory points per game in the post season & yes...they will beat the old record set by the '85 Bears for the largest margin of victory points in the Super Bowl! Let's start keeping track now, shall we?[sm=popcorn.gif]...
So far...
38-14 over the Jets
38-14 over the Chargers
38-7 over the Bills
34-13 over the Bengals
34-17 over the Browns
48-27 over the Cowboys
C'mon NE fans...let's here ya? Next to get beaten up on...The Miami Dolphins!

I'm onboard with you. This is one of the most talented teams to date...Much better than any of the three Superbowl teams.....However, at the end of the season when everything is clinched, a 16-0 season won't be as important as resting guys and taking care of things for the playoffs.

I'll go ahead and play your game.....
The last 4 teams to go 13-0 have all been AFC teams, and all lost their 14th game of the season. The Chiefs, Broncos, Chiefs, and Colts. Coincidence? Not really. 16-0 is simply not going to happen.
The Patriots really havent played anyone good thisyear. The Patriots have played 6 games and only TWO of them were against legitimately good teams. The Chargers, who have not resembled anything remotely close of last years team, and the Cowboys. 1 team with a record over .500, the rest are either .500 or less.
You've played 4 teams who are in the bottom 5 in defense, so I expect you to put up points. The Chicago Bears were much like this year's Cowboys. Both played a horrible game in prime time, both managed to win it, and then played the Patriots the following week. The Patriots won both games. The NFC is simply not that good and it hasnt been in years. That being said, there's no way the Patriots are going undefeated....and I'll even point to the last two years where the Colts have started out 9-0....and they're BETTER on offense then the Patriots.
In fact, the Patriots simply have had an easier schedule then the Colts....so that's why the stats look better for the Patriots. The AFC South is a combined 15-6. The AFC Least is a combined 8-15, with 6 of those wins being by the Patriots.
No weaknesses? Can you say running game? You have yet to play a team who can dish out as well as they can take. The Cowboys didnt even dress their 2nd best WR....The Colts & Steelers are more then capable of not only smacking the Patriots in the mouth, but beating them. The Patriots defense is old, and it shows late in games. The Cowboys could have been in that game if they didnt keep committing stupid penalties.
Sorry pal, but I think the Colts are going to be a lot tougher then you think.....and to overlook them is stupid. We lost several key players and starters....no problem....plug in the backups......lose a key offensive lineman??? no problem!!! plug in a rookie tackle.
The truth is, the Patriots are trying to be the Colts....and while the Patriots offense looks good.....anyone could look good playing the AFC Least and the bargain basement of the AFC North. I mean, the Browns put up

Trying to be the Colts??? HUH???[sm=WTFsgign.gif]
I'm not even going to begin to argue with the "book" you justwrote because it'll waste too much time & too much typing while I'm supposed to be working. So in a nutshell, NE has owned the Colts until last year & should have won that game too along with another title. Manning has always had better than average receivers & running backs, but could never get to the big game until last year. NE, however, always had mediocre-to-awful receivers & running backs, but wait...WE HAVE 3 TITLES! So what does that tell you about who the better QB is? The only thing Manning currently has over Brady is the TD pass season record, which will be SMASHED by Tom Brady at the end of this season (currently on pace to throw 50+ TD's this season!).
Running game? Morris has been running extremely well for us & Maroney should be back soon. With receivers like Moss, Stallworth & Welker, I wouldn't be too concerned about our running game if I were you come gameday!
"Colts alot tougher than I think?" How "tough" do you really think your much-different-looking-than-last-year Colts are after only beating teams like the Titans (3-2) by 2 & only beating the Texans for God's sake by 6? We're gonna make your Colts look ridiculous come 11/4 right after we get done taking care of the Dolphins & Redskins...can't wait to hear what you have to say then? Maybe "Oh, Manning had to do too many commercials over the last week...if it wasn't for that you would have only beaten us by 14 instead of 34!"[sm=smiley36.gif]

The Patriots are trying to be the Colts as in they're trying to win by throwing the ball downfield and scoring a ton of points. That's a very favorable comparison to the Colts for the last few years. Personally, I dont see anything wrong with it. In fact, last year the Colts started playing like the Patriots of a few years ago....hard hitting, smart defense, and forcing turnovers.
Owned the Colts until last year.....hmmmm Colts are now 3-0 in the last 3 years vs. the Patriots.....twice in 06, and once in 05. Yes, the Patriots owned the Colts prior to that.....but so did the Steelers for a long time...some teams just seem to have your/my teams number. Case in point, Miami always seems to beat New England.....even when they suck ass... How hard is it to beat the Jets or the Bills or the Browns or the Bengals....not very....as evidenced by their records...
The Colts are ALOT tougher this year then last year.....and the stats dont lie. Not to mention, we're playing with like 5 new starters on defense. It's really sad to see your head swollen this badly, but it will be fun to see it popped.
As for the Brady vs. Manning comparison......you're kidding me right? Just because you win a SB doesnt make you better then another player. Is Dan Marino any less a great QB then Brett Favre or John Elway? I'd think not....but apparently you are one of those people who thinks that because they win a title they're better.
1.) Tom Brady is a great QB, one of the top 5 in the league....no doubt. He's efficient, makes good plays, and for the most part doesnt make stupid decisions. HOWEVER, he's never won the SB on his own. He's never had to carry his team. Sure, he's made great plays, and he's moved his team down field....but at the end of the day....he wasnt the one winning those SB's......his kicker was....
2.) In the 3 SB wins for New England, their defense was ranked in th
[sm=popcorn.gif]Oh man I love the NFL...... Both of you guy's had better just hope and pray My Seahawks don't get there SH*t together or they just might whip your ass come Super Bowl Sunday

Man, you've got way too much time on your hands to be typing up that much space & reading that many football team/player stat books! The only thing that will be "popped" on 11/4 is your ridicuolously goofy, Elmer Fudd-like QB by our defense over & over again. Man I can't wait to hear your response after that game!
Last time I checked, Brady was the SB MVP for 2 out of 3 of those games...yah, Vinatieri won 2 of them via his foot but without a pretty good QB to lead the way for the previous 59 1/2 minutes of the game your not going to get a shot a kicking yourself to victory.
DAN MARINOSUCKED!!! He was always an incredibly overated QB because of his good looks & where he played. He was a guy who was always surrounded by pretty good teams, with aHOF coach like Don Shula &players like Mark Clayton, Mark Duper, Zack Thomas, Jason Taylor, McDuffie & Abdul-Jabbar...etc. Even with players like these & a long-azz career of 16 years the guy still couldn't get it done!!! Give me a break...he was a freekin' panzee who was a better actor than a QB for cryin' out loud (and he sucks at announcing too)! With all your football knowledge, don't you know by now...big-time players are only remembered for winning the big-time games..period. History doesn't remember 2nd place. Manning will be doing alot of this pictured below on 11/4...can't wait! Hope your still around to reply to this thread then...
I dont read all the stat books, I'm just a football nut....
I seem to recall alot of Bears fans talking trash too.....it was funny then...and its funny now. I expect another classic game like the AFC Championship last year. Lots of offense, lots of hard hitting defense..and I wouldnt be surprised at all if it goes down to the wire.
Pretty good QB's.....do you realize that there have been more average to mediocre QB's in the SB then there have been great QB's?????
do you realize that there have been more average to mediocre QB's in the SB then there have been great QB's?????
That's a ridiculous statment bud...the NFL Championship game showboats more average QB's than great QB's???Think about that statement for a minute??? No, I've never "realized" this because it's completely absurd. Just in the past 10-15 years it's included guys like...
Manning- 1 Ring
Brady- 3 Rings
Roethlisberger- 1 Ring
Elway- 2 Rings
Favre- 1 Ring
Aikman- 3 Rings
Young- 1 Ring
...(notice Marino's name isn't listed here).
I wouldn't exactly call these guys "average to mediocre"???
