Default Heading south to FL

Well after work tonight (1am) I'm heading out to FL fordaytona. I'm leaving from the north line in Vermont and the only thing that has my concern is it's 35 and that's cold at 70mph and I hope the moose stay at home too. I'm looking at some rain coming in so I'm tring to out run it I hope to make Harrisburgh or betterby the days end. So if you see some nut case with a bikepacked high and ice residue on his bread that just might be me. Take care,

I hear that about the cold, if I was guarnteed that I could get some fairly good weather coming back home from Fla. I would be heading down to do biktoberfest and maybe a run down to the keys. The weather just gets so unpredictable.

Well I did it, all the way down and all the way back. I put that bike through every kind of weather know to man (I think the bike held up better than the rider ha) Like I said I started off in the cold I did 650 miles days on the 2nd day I was getting hot and when I hit FL the sweetwas rolling off my back I guess I'm not use to it the oil temp gauge was reading above 200 too. I can tell you this there is nothing like a southern rain strom I think you would be dryer if you ran into a lake I had to hold up at the Savannah GAwelcome rest areabecause of a strom cell and it was 5am so I couldn't see 2 feet in front of me, after the sun came up I started out again. I stop in to many of the HD shops on the way down it was funny tohave people ask me if I really rode down from VT (yes I saidand I hope to make it back too) I then stop in at biketoberfest for about 2 minutesthere were to many people and the bike was getting hotter by the sec I tried to get to the J&P and the big HD dealer but the lines were to long sowith the help some local FL cracker (so he called him self that) he showed me the back way out of there. Idecided to head for the keys I took back roads I guess I went down through the glads hitRT997 then 1 and headed for key west. Well I drank my limit of beers and then decided to get the hell out of there after a few days, lets just say I sawthings a straight, women loving man should not see or even be close to. I leftkey west at 4am (I think I skip 1st gear) andwatched the sun come up as I rode up the keys, can't tell you what that's like it's almost not earthly (if that's a word) Well I stop in at the top of the keys at the lastchance salon and tried to watch thespace shuttle go off at 11:48 but we couldn't see it (oh and had some beers too) Then I just decided to head north back up the center of FL and pick a route home and yes the futher I went north the colder it got the rain was colder andwhen I got around NY I really looked funny with a sun burnt face andears I had alot of questions as to where the hell was I. The trip was 4386 miles. Take care

Wow, your the man, you did it all, why didn't you start out a little later in the year when you had some snow to deal with. Next time you come south check out us SFHF riders, we always got something going on or can steer you away from a rainbow ride.
