Went to Daytona this week. Had a blast. Was sitting downtown watching bikes go by . These three police came up and stood where we were at. A lot of people came by with really loud pipes and people were holding their ears. The police didn't like it either. One looked at me and said, it wont be long before loud pipes will be a think of the past. Flarida is already in the works to outlaw loud pipes. We gave the police department a call the next morning. In Daytona alone their were 2,123 phone calls about excessive noise. Some of the condos arn't going to allow loud pipes a room.
Many may enjoy loud pipes but I fear its comming to an end because weve abused our rights.
Let me give you an example. We were sitting at a red light and the guy ahead of us had such loud pipes till it hurt my ears and i have rianharts. I pulled beside him at the next red light and told him his pipes almost blew out my ears and he said F*CK U . Thats why the law will be passed.

Yeah...and those who are belly-aching bout loud pipes grew up terrorizing the neighborhood with cages with loud pipes...They can kiss my ass and my loud pipes..
Yes we have. What a bunch of hypocrites in Daytona, they want the money from spring break, Bike Week and Biketoberfest but all they do is whine while they take your cash.
BTW,your Rhineharts be illegal along with his straight pipes if many get their way. What do you suppose they will beotch about when everybody has factory pipes?
I've been on and around motorcycles all my life. I can honestly say I've never had a motorcycle (on the street) "hurt" my ears. You gotta be kidding me!!! I have my baffles in my v&h on the softail and straight custom pipes on the chopper. My neighbor saysthe chopper sounds like a John Force burnout when I leave if I get down on it. He Loves It!!
It is a case of"one bad apple ruining the whole bunch."
I live in the daytona area...and it is not the LOUD pipes thing.....it
is the riders that REV their engines to draw attention to themselves.
Bottom line.
Basically, Daytona Beach ordinance prohibits: "any noise creating device for the
purpose of drawing attention to the source of the noise."
This can apply to an auto, motorcycle.....or numerous things.
So........if you just ride you will be fine. But sit and REV your engine for no reason
and a cop feels frisky. Risk-a-ticket.
I have lived here over ten years......not so quietly and I have never gotten a ticket
for noise. REV your engines. Take of from a stop light like you are
beating the time trial at a drag strip. You came here for a weekend and got a ticket?
Too bad, so sad.
Did you notice the signs that said "Please ride quietly."?
Daytona Beach police are not 'out' to get anyone......and only get tough
when 'locals' have had enough.
This Biketoberfest wasn't too bad, as far as I have heard. I do know of quite a
few jerks that got away with loud pipes. Which will make it worse for the other 'apples'.

Yep, another one that can't see the forrest for the trees.
And yes, Daytona likes the money, but geez, if I was not a biker, and lived on a main drag and couldn't sleep for two weeks out of the year cause of the racket,I just might bitch too.
Nothing sounds sweeter than an old shovel with drag pipesat WOT, but it is noise to everyone else.
