She'z a beauty, Al.

It's niceto see people holding onto their treasures over the years. I wish I could have held onto several of my past treasures...'68 FL,'66 Mustang 289GT convertible (my first car bought for $400!), '70 Torino Cobra (with a 429 SCJ motor and shaker hood), '69 Camero 327 RS(however, this was my wife's). But it's never too late to rebuild our treasure chest!

Very nice shovel you've got. Especially the flame on the tank. Is yours the Superglide?

Here's my current steed...it's a Johnny Cash Special - One Piece At A Time!

Shovels4ever,
Thanks, it’s an ‘81 low rider FXS had it since new, the paint is 10 years old, got it done right before the big surge in custom paint, Black with gold leaf flames also some flames on the front fender, rear plain, cost to paint the tins,$500, today I couldn’t walk into the same shop for that price : - )
That is a nice bike !!! did you buy the whole kicker arm to get that peddle on it ? I was trying a long time to have that design peddle, never did get it !!
Very nice ride, you got the right idea, one piece at a time : - )
Ride safe,
cj

I noticed that you have a small-windshieldon your FXS, and it's not overly large and obtrusive looking. My questions: (1) How well does it work? (2) What brand is it? and (3) Does it, or can it have a quick disconnect?

I've been thinking of putting one on my ride to cut down on the wind buffeting at highway speeds, whichseems to bechallenge my neck muscles more and morelately...guess I'm getting old! LOL I think it also has something to do with wearing a brain-bucket. Before I moved to Washington (which is a helmet law state), I rode with no helmet and had no problem withthe wind pushing my headand bending my neck back. But ever since I've been required to wear a helmet, I've had trouble with my neck...you can say that it's a real pain in the neck! I'm thinking that a windshield could help, but don't want to put on a hugeriot shield. But asmaller one like yourslooks OK. I like my rides much like good looking girls...they should come with aslittle clothing on them as possible! LOL

Shovels4ever,
I agree totally with the last sentence : - ))))
It’s a hd windshield, (damn thing has Harley-Davidson etch in small letters just across the top of the headlight, hardly see it, it’s dark smoked) it’s a "fits all", it’s every small, I really like having one that small, I will look for the part number, I think I still have the box, no it’s not quick disconnect, years before that option can into view, this only has 2 stand off arms, on the bars, and L clamps on each turn signal stems out of the tree, size is from the top of the headlight to the top of the windshield is 15.5" H x 11" wide at the top x 17" across the widest width at the top of the headlight, sorta goes down along the sides of the headlight, but it keeps the wind off and more important keeps the rain off, if I hunch over a bit, that is the main reason I have it, and little Rain-X and I am ready, the rain acts like ball bearings hitting the sidewalk from a 30 story drop ! I always can see at hi-way speeds.
Btw- no wind shifts no getting push around, it is small, really my original is gone, since my buddy had this one in the box, brand new, he had one on his FXSB when he band it up a bit in the garage, he was so pissed he went out and got a new one, so he took it off (after he brought this one) took a ride with it off, then telling me, "the hell with it I am keeping it off, I like riding in the wind" not kidding that is what he said, I said hay I’ll buy it off you, (mine was in real bad shape) I did I gave him a $140 that’s is what ii approx cost or $150 from hd, anyway I was waiting for him at his garage one day, he was coming back from his kids house 30 miles, it got a little rainy and cloudy around here, he came pulling up, the bike was dripping wet !, he was soaked, wet hair (no helmet) when he pulled up he wasn’t smiling, the engine wasn’t shut off yet, as he looked at me then looked at my bike with his old (new) windshield on it ! I said "no-way, you sold it" he said yeah I know, but I shouldn’t have sold it, you pr*ck !"Im the pr*ck ?? how does that work ? AH ! (hes my best friend of a lot of years !! : - )))))
No pain in the neck, keeps the wind and rain off me, this would be the last item off my bike, well, it would go before my forward controls : - )
[left][color=#0000cc]Take care, if you want pics of it (closer ones) let me know I will post them and I will try to get the part number, but I haven’t se
