also, normally oil senders work by grounding the circuit - if you ck the sender with an ohm or continuity meter, bike off, it should be closed circuit (grounded - supplies ground to bulb & turns it on), where it should be open circuit when the bike is running or has oil pressure (sw opens, no grd to bulb). You could ck the bulb by applying power to it off the bike (small jumper wires), and I would also think that the bulb should have 12 volts to it anytime the key is on; ck connections, fuses, wiring to bulb (again, ground is supplied to turn bulb on).
I found that the oil lamp wasn't really bright enough when it was totally dark, so I switched to an electric headlight they work much better. Plus ya don't have to mess around with checking and filling your light fluid[sm=joke.gif]

My turn signals are dim, do I need blinker fluid?

If the turn signals are dim, I would suggest drilling a hole in each one(on the backside so the wind doesn't doubt them of course!) just so they get more oxygen thus burn brighter!! THAT SHOULD DO IT![8D]

Remove the wire from the sending unit and ground it somewhere on the bike, that should burn the lamp, if it has 12volts going to it. Check your fuse if there is no current, if thats good, check the connection from the lamp to the harness, if there is one.
