Hello All I currently have a home made hand clutch cable release setup on my WLA and would like to attach the foot clutch while still being able to retain the hand clutch. Can anyone assist with either clear photos, diagrams or reference material of the hand/foot clutch cable release setup for the WLC. Thanks in advance

the hand clutch set-up was for British riders during WW2, it just doesn't work to any useful extent, or at any rate it is very fragile to adjust. Don't bother with it. If you want to build an auxiliary hand clutch, refit the foot clutch. Then take your hand cable ( I assume from your earlier post that you have a cable fitted ) and run it to the release lever, under the foot cable bracket. You will see where the extra cable hole needs to go in the lever, and where the extra cable stop will need to be welded on the foot cable bracket. the crucial problem is getting the length of the cable pull on the lever correct relative to the lever travel. Look at the clutch release lever on a BSA or Triumph box and you will see how long the lever arm needs to be, and hence where you need the extra cable hole. you will end up with two independent clutch mechanisms, hand and foot. Each can release the clutch independent of the other

email to the people at Beauty of Speed, he seems to know more about the original set-up than anyone. If anyone has a pic, it will be him. Google 'Beauty-of-Speed' and you will find it easy enough, he is on alot of boards like 'knucklenutz' and www.hydraglide.com, but I haven't seen him on this one so far
