Default Are the 110 cvo problems fixed on 08's?

Ready to pull the trigger on a 08 ultra purchase. Looking at a regular 105th ultra with a 103 stage 2 plus a good bit of other stuff, it would be in the 28-29 thousand range as delivered. considering a CVO ultra, as my dealer sells them at list so not that much more and it has all the goodies. Been out of the Harley fold for a long time since the AMF days, and last 2 bikes were 1800 goldwings with gobs of HP and torque, but no soul. Been reading up on the 110 cvo's and concerned withthe problems reported with the 07's. Have they learned any lessons and improved the 08's. I am past my motorcycle thrashing days, just want a lot of mid range roll on torque as I tour sometimes and tow a camping trailer. I would spend the extra cash for a CVO but don't want a bunch of maintence headaches, which would youlean towards?

Thanks - ezride

Buy the CVO Classic or UC. Best riding bike. Handles great, very fast, no problems. [/align]

It's pretty early, but there seem to be less trouble with the 08's. More vocal complaints about the 07's. There are plenty of differences between the two years. They still run hot, but seem to be running strong. Check out www.cvoharley.com. I'm very happy with the CVO ultra and you get a lot more than just the bigger engine.

Fixed in 08, doubtfull. I'd research a bit more and you will find certain issues keep popping up at certain miles. When it's the same thing over and over I'd think twice.

I have an 07 cuse2 and its in the shop now waiting to see what the moco is going to do about the repeat problems i have had with it . it is stock/ no mods . i have put 12k miles plus on it sence 11/10/06 . have had the rear cyl. replace three times now for oil leaks . primary cover leaks . ecm has been changed count less times trying to get it to run with out stalling and poping back through the intake. curently they have an unaproved test map , not yet aproved by E.P.A trying to cool off the back cyl. the compresion releases havent been working right and the starter shelled , leaving me stranded in town.the signal lights on the front have been changed out 3 or 4 times now due to chrome peeling off the reflectors witch needs them changed now again . thefairing had to be replaced dueto paint bubbling and peeling off , same on the durby cover .now they have it back with a leaking rear cyl. andshelled starter ,few other small problems too fix . dont get mewrong i love this bike when it is running right . but when you pay $35,000for a bike . and have had to go through all this it is not worth it . thats why i'm waiting to hear from them and see if they want to do whats righton thier own orI'll turn it over to the txdot forthe "lemon law" witch i have called asking about and they believe it will quailify with all the problems . so i'm left asking the same question you are have they got it fix in the 08's . under the lemon law you either have them buy it back or take a new bike . that is the delima if iknew they had it fixed in the 08's thats what i would want because like i said i love this bike when it is running right.

In good conscience i have to say take the 103 and run. I love my 07, it is flawless in every respect except one small point- the motor. Are the 08's the same? Don't know but i would suggest that if they had fixed something in the 08110's wouldn't theyapply it towards the 07 110's to fix the problems mine and others are having over and over again. When i picked mine up Sat for it's 3rd set of gaskets and new set of jugs there were 2 others torn apart. A guy i ride with has one and his is leaking oil as we speak-that makes 4 that i know of, at the same time, in the same middle of nowhere place in Missouri. At least 2 of those 4 have been torn down for the same reason at least once before.
