75 XLCH - fouled plugs
Hello,

I've got a 75 XLCH Sportster (1000) (had a long time) with 22K miles on it, drag pipes - all stock . . . stock Bendix #16P12 carburator

To prep it for cold starting, I twist the throttle 3 times (don't use the choke) and give it a good kick, it normally starts on the 1st kick.

Then I increase the idle to around 1200 RPM until it warms up, then back the idle down to 900.

Took a ride on Sat, and after the engine warmed up (20 minutes) as I was going around 50 MPH, the engine started coughing, some kinda of fuel problem.

When I got home, I pulled the plugs and noticed that they appeared to be either oil or carbon fouled (according to the Cylmer book)- using Accel plugs with 3K on them.

So, I cleaned them up, (used some sand paper between the gap)blew em out good, checked the gap, looked OK, then regapped at .028 (Clymer book says .025 - .030) and put them back in. Have yet to ride the bike since then.

But wanted to fix the fouling problem before I took another ride.

Any and all thoughts, comments greatly appreciated.
