Default baggers.......I don't get it

there is a guy down the road who rides a bagger.I don't get it . I mean , he isn't really that old or anything .
I asked him why and he said he shouldn't have to explain and got all defensive.
Is it because he feels safe riding something the size of a car ?
Is he just lazy and wants to riding something that he doesn't have to worry about falling over ?
It can't be because of storage because he trailers it most places and doesn't even wave when he is riding it.

Is this a serious thing you opened up here?
I can only respond with a few questions to clarify a few things for me.

1. Have you ever ridden a bagger?
2. Baggers fall over.
3. Waving is required?

This is in response to the trike thread and basically asks the same question but I bet this will not be taken the same.
