I think that I would like to get a custom paint job on my 2000 FXDL.  I am wondering what the average paint job cost?  Nothing super fancy maybe some ghost flames and a really good paint job.  I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.  Any recommendations for painters in this area?

Attitude Cusyom Flame painting in Florida is a good place to start looking.  They are about $2000 and  they supply the new tins.  Dragon Flames is also a good place and you can get a quote online instantly.  I looked for a long time and I finally decided on Airea 5150.  It is a little more expensive but it is truly a custm paint job.  I am spending $2500 and I am supling the tins.  When I get my bike back I will post photos.  all the painters I listed are found on the web, you can look up their sites.   Paint, as in most things, you get what you pay for.  You want a paint job that has that deep wet llok and that will last.  You also want to check out JEIllusions.com  they also do great work.

Check out these guys www.thepaintchop.com They start around $1500 and really stand behind there work.  Don't be affraid to ship your tins to get what you want. You shouldn't have to spend anymore than $2500 anywhere to get a quality job unless you want alot of artwork.
