Hey 97,
I know you and branner got your rims from the same guy right? Your back rim is 18" how wide is
the rim? Been looking for a 18" rear rim for my train but everything I can find is 3.5" wide, I think
the stock rim on my 05' is 3". Was it easy like take off put on any problems you ran into doing the
swap?

Story, my wheels are from Black Bike. Front is 21 x 2.15 and the rear is 18 x 3.5 with a 140 880 tire.  No problems on the swap.

Kong that is a great looking Bad Boy.  I like the hot rod look with the white walls, flat paint and all.

Good Job!

Two things cross my mind as I look at these pictures of Bad Boys.

1. Your bikes look badass!

2. How do you tote your stuff?

I currently own a '96 FXSTS...not a Bad Boy but still a Springer. I have always loved the look of the Bad Boys and I am kind of wanting to follow that look with my bike...minus the blacked out front end and oil tank. I notice a lot of you, like 97FXSTB and Skullhead in particular, are running solo seats with no sissy bar to strap a bag to and no saddle bags...which is, of course, what a Bad Boy should look like (at least I think so). But don't you still need to take a minimum amount of stuff with you? Some water...a rainsuit in case you are 100 miles from home and get caught in an afternoon thunderstorm...some papers if you are going to work...normal stuff. I would really like to go for the whole "Bad Boy" vibe with my bike but I am new at this (obviously) and not really sure how to pull it off without making my bike look great, but completely impractical for my needs at the same time. How do you guys do it?

There were Bad boy bags back in 95-99, out of production for a while now but have seen similar ones..I have them on my 96 sts..

Sure, loose the running boards, change the front tire and change the seat and it would look just like one for the most part.

A little late on the reply but if anyone is interested.  My bike looks like this most of the time since I don't get to take too many long trips.  But if I am going on a trip for a few days I put the two up seat on it and I have a sissy bar.  Then for storage I have a T-bag (no jokes) that slides over the sissy bar.  And as a bonus if I slide it on so the bag rests on the passanger seat, as opposed to behind the sissy bar, it makes a nice back rest.

If I did have time to do more trips I'd get a bagger of some sort.  Just makes sense.

I guess I'll use my 1000th post to bump the Bad Boy pic thread!  To answer the question about storage on my Bad Boy, whatever I can't carry on me or in my riding partners saddlebags, gets left at home.  I'll strap clothing to the handlebar or rear fender once in awhile, but thats about it.

Yes it is quiet here.  I don't like to bump unless I have a relevant pic.  Don't want to have happen what happened in the NT thread.  Although from the looks of it there is no fear of that happening here!!  LOL

Opinions?  I really like the black headlight and Rims.  Maybe not those exact rims but it gives an idea what I have in mind.

Hey 97,
I have been meaning to ask you.  When you went to the bigger back rim, I think you went to 18", did you notice any difference on the road?  And did it throw your speedometer off?
