Beautiful day in the Carolinas.  Rode bike to work then on to Wendy's at Lunch Time.

Basically said that they did not serve "Walk Up Customers at the Drive Up Window."

Has this happend to you?

Thanks

SC here.  I've gone through Wendy's drive through here with no issue.  Someone else stated their bank had a no bike policy and I go through the drive through at my local bank all the time on a bike.

No loss really.  Wendy's food sucks.

Maybe you should have ridden your bike inside like they asked you to.....  "Is this what you want?", potato, potato...  "You'll have to speak up".......   "Can you make sure there's no onions on that sandwich"....  braaaaaap, potato, potato......

Maybe you confused the kid at the window! "Man, I don't know what this guy wants! A potato or a chicken sandwich!! Somebody get the manager!"

Beautiful day in the Carolinas.  Rode bike to work then on to Wendy's at Lunch Time.

Pulled up to order and no one would respond over the outside.  HAd removed helmet and shut off bike to be able to hear the Clerks responsed, which never came.

Road up to pay window, set for about three (3) minutes and no one came to the window.

Pulled up to the Take Out Window, clerk says: "We don't serve motorcycles at the Drive Up Window.  If you want something you have to come inside"

Asked why, was told, same line of BS.  By this time, cars were starting to line up behind bike.  Asked for Manager, was told to come inside to talk with Manager.  Asked for Manager again.  Told to wait until he was ready to see me.  By this time again, cars are honking their horns.

Manager finally came to window, about five (5) minutes had elasped by this time.

Real smart $$$.

Basically said that they did not serve "Walk Up Customers at the Drive Up Window."

Has this happend to you?

Thanks

The late Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s, was a rider.  Indeed, he appears in the video of that biker song with the choirs that starts with, “If you don’t ride, you don’t know.”

Dang y'all have my curiousity up now,,, I guess I'll have to try the local Wendy's just for the hell of it and see what happens,,, of course I never eat there but it's just an experiment.

I'll let you know. I'm going to move this thread to our latest new section called the motorcycle activist, because that's where this needs to be I think.

I have yet to have one company refuse me service in a drive through.
I have had one place ask me kindly to turn off my bike while in the drive through so that their speakers can hear the customers behind me. I apologized and since then do it every time.

If I did get told that they will not serve me in a drive through I would just contact cooperate headquarters and complain.

Sorry, but I agree with the manager. Bikes don;t belong in drive-ups, especially when there is only 1 lane like at fast food joints. Yeah, speaking your order is quick enough, but get up to the pay window and you gotta lean over, dig out your money, dig the change back into a pocket. Then you gotta waddle up to the next window, stand-up to take your order, find a place to put it, secure it, sit back down, adjust, then ride off. JMHO sorry

Spike,

Your comments are retarded.

How many soccer moms are out there going through drive-thrus with 3 or 4 little screaming brats, struggling with her purse, her seatbelt, the carseats, "Billy-touched-me!", the inevetable cell phone, the loud radio/DVD player, also trying to gather trash so she can dump it, and passing out food to the kids before she's out of the lot??

Tell me how that's different... if not worse... than someone pulling up on a bike for some fries.

Regardless of liking Wendy's or any other establishment, this was outright discrimination. Plain and simple. There's establishments around here that try the same, you could get the wheels rolling on an anti-discrimination "mode of transport" with your local state rep. In Illinois, we successfully got a similar law passed through both assembly and senate, then the (now jailbird) governor scratched out every word pertaining to motorcycle and motorcyclist and filled in "sexual preference" instead and signed it. We're trying it again, taxpayer-funded parking facilities that refuse motorcycles are our main target.

Wow! Finally made it to the end of this thread! I've taken the bike through the drive-thru at Wendy's, Hardee's, and BK with no probs. Grab a burger & fries, tuck 'em inside yer jacket, head for home and grab a soda outa the fridge. Easy-peasy lemon-squeezee!  Nothing like a hot meal inside yer jacket when it's below 40 degrees.

Have already call Wendy's Customer Service Department.

They will "Call me back"

Having worked at Wendy's corporate - give them a call - you will get a bunch of free food! Poor service and it was the Manager's call - no one else!

It depends some of the stores are franchise locations, I moved from Houston and with a city that size there were more franchise stores than corporate stores. The franchise locations are much more difficult to deal with than the corporate locations in my experience.

I work in a lumberyard, should I refuse service to anyone who pulls up in a subcompact and wants a bunch of 2x4''s? Nope.

We''ll sell them what they want, how they transport it is their problem.
