Here is a pic of the same board after i cut it up into 24 pieces.
Now I have to glue and clamp it all back together then try and make it flat.
Man do i love the headaches I create for myself.

That cutting board is gonna be awesome when you get it done, can you run it through a planer on end like that or not? Post when finished. I started off making these things seperatley out of some scrap alum. sheeting I had left over from another project, I made paper templates for each one. Then as a present for my nephew (who I left ride my Heritage, first person other than me) I cut them out of 1/4 oak plywood and put them together like a puzzle on a 3/4 in solid oak backround. I put a pic of him riding my bike on the bar & shield then polyurethened everything. Next go around I decided to just make them one piece out of the 1/4 oak and burn in between, the one in the pic has a coat of poly on it, not sure what else I'm gonna do to it. Will be making some out of 3/4 solid oak next. I will try to post some pics of the alum. ones. Can't get the pics to upload.

I have a 13 inch planer that does not get along with the end grain of these cutting boards.
One os these days I will be able to afford a wide drum sander, until then i use my belt sander.
And that is why after every move I make on some of these boards I have th set it aside and build something small and less stressful.
Like this.

I didn't think end grain would go well with the planer but wasn't sure I'm pretty new to this woodworking stuff, I know what you mean about less stressful though. These things that I mess with are really just time killers and keep me busy (like I need that) I don't know why I cant get any pics to load when I try the progress bar goes about halfway across then the whole page just goes blank. Guess I'll keep trying.

Hey I think I figured out what was wrong with posting pics?If it works these are the alum ones I cut out with tin snips, hammered, sanded and put on my door in my work room. I have since made some more of the skulls and polished them.
