Default HD Sundowner Seat on an FXDCI?

Advice and info needed, Please. I have ordered a Sundowner seat from Chicago Harley... great price, with 20% off - $195.00. I hear the seat is extremely comfortable and looks good, too. My only concern is the width - 16" for the rider portion... 11" for the passenger.

Is this too wide for my bike? And specifically what I mean is... will it look awkward being so wide? Word is to me that the seat looks great and will be super comfortable for someone like me who has had multiple back surgeries. Most of my riding is local stuff... no great distances... but the 'comfort' aspect appeals to me.

If the seat raises me up an inch, I don't mind that. The bike is low enough for me to handle. Please advise in case I need to call them back to cancel. Being a 'special order', it takes a while for them to get anyway.

I guess that's an individuals opinion Fuente.

That's a good price indeed, for a good looking seat.

I'm sure some will be along shortly to add a comment or 2.

A mate of mine has one on his 2003 FXST.....same trouble, severe back problems. I thought when I first saw the seat it looked to big for his bike and made the sissy bar look small as well. After a while you don't notice it and it is a very supportive seat....very comfy.

One problem I did notice was because of the width of the seat it did rock a bit side ways and one day I was following him and the seat was on a angle not square with the sissy bar. If it was bolted down on the sides like the Heritage seat instead of one bolt at the rear that would certainly fix the problem.

They say the '05 FXDCI's have the big gas tank, and along with the shocks.... it creates more of a balance with the width of the Sundowner. Feedback from anyone else is very appreciated. I have this on special order and still could cancel it if necessary.
