Default Won my first Bike Night Trophey

Here is a pic of me and my Ironhead at last Wed. Quaker Steak and Lube Bike Night. It was classics night and you can also see a couple of nice shovelheads in the background as well.

Congrats on the win. I have an 84 being rebuilt. also in the family we have an 80 ironhead and 73 & 79 shovels. We like the older Iron. Mine is an 89 1200 But I love it. Mine is ugly too. Just gotta love that Hammerite.

Congrats on the win...I can't wait to get my basket together...74 frame, 76 engine/trans. Quick question...I am eliminating the electric start option for simplicity sake and was wondering because of all these rumors....was this engine properly names the "Milwaulkee Crippler" because of it's kick/compression combo? Later

Another quick question for you.....I noticed you posted a thread a qhile back ralating to the carb issue. I am curious to know whick one you went with since I have the original Bendix, but should I switch or keep it? I haven't had the engine fired yet .... the bike is still not together and has sat for quite a few years as a basket so I am sure I will have some issues with ajustments on the carb to begin with. Should I just sell it on ebay for a super E or a mikuni? Not quite sure

See the "correct way to kick start an ironhead" thread. That should cover the history of the Milwaulkee Crippler.

The Super E performed well at high speed but at low speed sputtered. I currently have a bendix which operates well at low speed but at a loss of high speed performance. As soon as I can afford it, I will go with a CV or slide style carb like Mikuni.
