Default Clearcoat over Tank Emblem?

I am trying ot take the Emblems off my sportster and put a tank badge. I was just about to try the hair drier and the Dental Floss method, but I realized the emblem has a clearcoat over it[:@]. What would you guys suggest is the best procedure to take the Tank Emblem off?
This is going to be a bigger PITA than I thought [:'(]. I am starting to think that I may take the bike to a Body shop and get them to take it off, I don't really want to scratch the paint off on my new baby.

Thanks,

Crank

If your emblem is cleared over, the only way to get it off is basically strip it all and repaint it. Must be a decal instead of an emblem.

If its a decal with clearcoat over it, as comes stock on many Sportsters, you are out of luck.
