picked up a pan

well. picked up my uncles panhead the other day. hasn't ran in about 8 years. drained the tank, swapped in some plugs and changed the fuel line and filter. after kicking that damn thing over for about an hour i finally got it running. was able to take it around the block once beforesomething jammed the needle/seat and flooded it out. to say that it needs some work is a major understatement. heres the low down on it. 58 swingarm frame, 49 jugs and cylinders, cases are not original, beleive he said they are delcrons (oh well) and that it is an 84 inch stroker. wide glide frt end. will get some pics of it tomorrow and post them up. looks like my extra time has a place to go now,(like i needed another project).

Old bikes are just so fun. When it's right, it'll be one kick only. Have fun.

Sounds like fun, spent too much time building trucks and cars over the years, think I might try an older bike, seems they and making a lot of new parts for the older toys now. I think S&S has some new engines just for the old guys. Have fun and get some pic’s up…

Be interested in what you find. The Delkron cases are bullet proof. 84" means a pretty maxed out pan. Has to be bored way over w/80" flywheels. If it doesn't have an S&S E carb, it needs one. Definetely keep us posted, it must have been a real fun build originally, hope you have as much fun with it. Good Luck!

Congrats on the score althought not to burst your bubble some of your free time should be spent onfiguring out how to get title/registration for your bike as a 1958 frame has no VIN # (58's were titled on left side engine case) and to the best of my knowledgedelcron cases have no VIN # Iguess it can be done but don't overlook.Good luck
