That tank bag you have...is it basically a fannypack with magnets? I'm a Fed ICE Agent and I am always looking for carry options on my FATBOY.

btw for the forum; I own a M4, 2x 40 cal SIG229 DAK, GLOCK 22 & 27 9mm (back up), MOSSBERG 590, REM 870 14" with night sights, HIGH STANDARD 22 pistol and a REM 22 Rifle.

I'll get this started.

I'm a retired LEO and my duty gun (which I own) was a Glock 21 (45 cal) with 13 round mag.  My wife is still LEO and carries her own Model 21.  I have a Glock 27 for concealed carry.  I've got a nice little magnetic tank bag with a built in holster that's great for road trips.  Lisa carries an AMT 380 in her purse.

I hope your wife doesn't have to ever use that AMT 380; that thing is known for being a piece of crap. My partner has it too and I will not use it because of all the FTF's.  I'd rather trust my S&W 9mm.

Speaking of S&W 9MM's, I have a S&W 910 with a stainless spring guide (Tactical Series) and a one-piece wrap-around grip that's comfy as hell.

And a plinker or two... An old Ithaca 22... Lots of cheap fun there.

I usually carry my Glock 30 on duty with my Glock21 Mags in my mag holder, I carry a Glock 27 on my ankle as my backup and usually have that when I am off duty.. Used to carry the 21 on duty and the 30 or 27 off duty but they just changed our regs to say we are only allowed to qual with 2 gun max.. which means now I had to decide since I am skinny I can not conceal a 21 anywhere or where my 30 on my ankle so I chose to just go with the 30 on duty with the 21 mags and the 27 as a backup. Nice thing about this set up is I get the best of both worlds with the 30. I actually like it better and feels better in my hand than my 21 did. I also have a sig 226 and a Glcok 19 as well as some wheel guns.

Do you have any pics of the tank bag I have been trying to figure out a way to carry without leaving in my saddle bags or on my ankle..

Hey Terry

Do you think a Colt officers model would fit in that bag? My dealer doesn't carry them so I would likely have to order it online.

Maybe this would be a great place to get advice.  I grew up hunting, and I'm very familiar with rifles and shotguns.  I'm considering getting my concealed carry license, but I'm torn on what weapon to carry.  I really like the Glock 23, but I recently saw a very similare model made by S&W.  Same polymer handle, metal slide, etc.  Does anyone have any information/opinions/experience with this S&W?  I'm not sure of the model number.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You can't go wrong with a Glock model 23.  I had one for years and carried it every day.

I have significantly contributed to the populace of armed Americans.

Just recently got an 18" barrel for my Remington 870 Myzen (shortest barrel allowed under federal law). I bought the Remington form another Marine after previously selling my Winchester 1300. I carried the 870 on duty before I find it... effective.

also:
Ruger Vaquero
Browning Hi-power 9mm
Glock 22 .40 cal
Ruger Mini-14
Remington 700
AK-47
Sears & Robuck 12ga. double barrel... which is on loan to my girlfriend should the need arise given that her house was previously robbed.

LOL Ryan. Man, I hadn't been shooting in a few months, finally got out again and did some IDPA practice this week. I really need to shoot at least once a week! I was pleased I was still hitting the target despite the time off, but those distance shots were tagging the target's shoulder, but I focused more and got my center hits, didn't miss a single head shot all night though.

The new buddy (friend of a friend) that helped me change out the fluids in my new-to-me 03 Road King Classic said he's looking for people shoot w/ so I told him about the IDPA group, he wanted to check it out, so maybe I'll have a new shootin' buddy too.

I didn't read through all the posts , but of all the first couple pages I didn't see a single G20 or G29 !!!!!

Are me and Ted Nugent the only ones alive who carry the 10mm???  The finest semi-auto hand gun ever produced... I know I am going to get a ton of "propagana" and made up stories about how the knew a guy that knew a guy that had a friend who's mailman had a 1omm Glock and it killed his whole family when it exploded in his hands!!!!  I also bet that it comes from an HK guy . not that I have any problem with HK they are great, it's just the Glock would probably be it's closet direct competition.. People often choose between one of these two, and either one is a good choice....okay , I'm done now.. P.S. Yes I know ammo is expensive for the 10

My gun collecting interest have changed throughout the years.  I've pretty much completed my acquisition of M1 carbines and now I find I really like the old Colt pocket pistols.
