I'm a retired LEO and my duty gun (which I own) was a Glock 21 (45 cal) with 13 round mag. My wife is still LEO and carries her own Model 21. I have a Glock 27 for concealed carry. I've got a nice little magnetic tank bag with a built in holster that's great for road trips. Lisa carries an AMT 380 in her purse.

I started my 16 year old son shooting this year. I love the Kimber 1911 and decided to try something a little different for him. For Christmas we got hima Tarus 1911. He is having a blast. First day out he blew the crap out of a 1 gallon milk jug. This gun is working flawless so far.
I myself am thinking of adding another one to the collection. After looking at the Tarus line I am leaning to the 24/7 PRO. Really like the feel in my hand asI have small hands (no jokes here please) and the smaller grip just felt right. Now I am wondering what caliber to go with. Always liked the 45 but thinking of going with a 9 mil mainly for cost of ammo.
My twelve yearold son shoots a Smith and Wesson Mod. 41 .22 and a Ruger MKII .22 heavy bbl.
For a revolver my favorite is my Smith and Wesson 686 w/ 6" bbl.
Auto. is between my Springfield 1911 and Beretta 92F.

Maybe this would be a great place to get advice. I grew up hunting, and I'm very familiar with rifles and shotguns. I'm considering getting my concealed carry license, but I'm torn on what weapon to carry. I really like the Glock 23, but I recently saw a very similare model made by S&W. Same polymer handle, metal slide, etc. Does anyone have any information/opinions/experience with this S&W? I'm not sure of the model number. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are referring to the Sigma (Stigma).
Have not heard good things about it. For the price you are better off getting a Glock or my preference is a Springfield XD. I own one and couldnt be happier with it. Put one of each in your hand and see which one feels the best. Shoot them if you can. That is the way to tell which gun is for you.
Belgian Laminated Steel 12ga double barrel with rabbit ears. Cant shoot it with modern shells.
20 ga Ted Williams Pump with Polychoke. had it since I was a teenager back in the dark ages
8 shot 22LR revolver with no name on it. Shoots good and cheap. Long barrel.
