Hi there, I have the 2008 Night Rod Special and was thinking of getting the Slash Cut Exhaust Pipes (BAFFLED). Do I have to remap the ECO, will it actually damage the engine or it's just a gimic. Will it do fine if I got the Fuel Pack as it's easy to install. any feedback about the Tab exhaust???   thanks

You absolutely need a fuel modulator of some kind if you change the mufflers or entire exhaust (Unless you change to Screamin' Eagles and have the ECM remap by Harley-Davidson)

I have no experience with the Fuel Pak or Tab exhaust.

Like eazy stated, you will need to remap.

If you go with a free breathing exhaust like Tab you'll probably also need to let in more air. You'll end up needing some type of fueler to get it right.

I just posted a similar thread about TAB.  Guess we will find out at the same time.  From what I have heard the pipes sound awesome and will eliminate some weight.  If I hear anything else I will let you know.  I ride an '07 FLHX, so I am usually on in the Touring forum.

Later,

JB

I have V-Mod pipes and I can hear my mates TABS over mine. Yes you need a PC111 or similar.

I think this is a moot point.  The SE mufflers for V-Rods are gone.  They don't make any other than the Hollow Point mufflers.  The Hollow Point mufflers don't require a re-map.  the older flashes are not compatible with the 2007 and up ECM's.

I do agree that a fuel management is necessary in this case.
