So, Honks... How is your team doing so far in recruiting? tOSU has a few good kids locked up so far. If you've never seen Pryor play, check out this vid. Just turn the sound down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oE-TH096R-8 It's pretty much down to scUM & tOSU as to where he ends up. Somebody is gonna get a great player. |

Recruiting? Next season? I'm still basking in the National Championship of this season! :D

16 year old kids. Nothing really matters until after national signing day when they have all signed a letter of intent. And they will still change their minds.

RE: Terrelle Pryor cancels LSU visit.
Looks like UM and OSU are the only visits he has scheduled before NSD, according to Rivals. I think he follows RR to UM, if not for RR going to UM, I think he would be going to WVU. I'm just waiting for Julio Jones to don a crimson hat with a white script "A" and follow his buddies Robert Lester and BJ Scott to the Capstone.
As far as changing their minds after NSD, yes they can, but they lose a year of eligibility. |
RE: Terrelle Pryor cancels LSU visit.
The high school "draft" is important I'll admit. But, who was after Matt Mauck or Matt Flynn (the quarterbacks of the 2003 and 2007 LSU national champions) to sign? I don't recall their names being mentioned by rivals or espn or others as the "most sought after qb's in the nation". I guess what I am trying to say is that, even though 5 star high school players are signed by big colleges, it still comes down to a lot of players that weren't highly recruited and developed into journeyman players or even great players.
There are probably about 35 players involved in each game counting offense, defense, special teams and players that are rotated in and out of the offense and defense. I rarely see more than four or five top rated players go to any one big program and a lot of times some of these players are never heard from again. A lot of these guys are 17 years old and won't physically mature for another year or two. Sure, there are some signs that a player has potential and signs that another player is ready to make an impact but, look at Notre Dame. They ranked right up there with the so called "recruiting rankings" top ten and they won two games. USC has had the top recruiting class for a few years now and how many NC's have they won? Oklahoma? Texas? I think recruiting is important, certainly but, I don't think ranking recruiting is a viable predictor of what is going to happen at National Championship time. |

TP's not signing today...

Latest on Terrelle Pryor - 9 p.m. update... Reply [hr] Terrelle Pryor just called me a few minutes ago and said he's now not signing tomorrow. He said he's 100-percent sure he's not signing. He said he's going to take an official visit to Penn State for sure, hopefully a weekend visit, and might visit Oregon. He said he is just not sure of his choice as of right now. He has had numerous discussions with his father who really likes the way Penn State has recruited Terrelle. Penn State has been to Terrelle's father's house numerous times and had done a good job making him feel comfortable that PSU is the right place for his son. So as of now it's OSU, Michigan, PSU and Oregon for his services with no signing date set. He could change his mind again when he wakes up, so I am simply reporting what he's telling me. Trust me, he is not doing this for the attention, this kid sounds as torn up about a decision as any I've covered. And he is aware of the reputation that some folks are pinning on him and to that he told me he has to do what is right for him and can't worry about public opinion. He and his family come first and this is an important decision that he's not going to rush for anyone. Good news for PSU fans here no doubt. |

http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com...tion=fbrecruit I dunno, man... He says it's not about the attention, but smiles ear-to-ear when asked about it. He hates attention, hates talking to people, but invites RIVALS to his home this morning, before school? This kid needs to get away from his *hood*, ASAP. Whatever team gets him, the coach will be a good one that can re-shape him. |
