I boughtmy 2007 cherry red SE Ultra CVO in October 2007 at my local H-D dealership. It was used with 7,500 on the odometer. I traded in my 2001 Road King with 40K on it and gave $20,150 boot "out the door".

I had to shop around for my 06, and ended up driving 250 miles one way to get it...but, I got MSRP plus dealer prep and tax. Both dealers in my home city (owned by the same person) wanted 3K over and I refused to pay it. There are MSRP dealers out there, even on the SE bikes, but you've got to decide if it's worth it to you drive a bit.

I paid MSRP for a 2008 Copper Top. CHI-Town HD in Orland Park, IL. First bike from this dealer, but have been using there service department for years. I moved from Chicago HD because the store in the city, now has very little bike stock -- all clothes.

Ask for Dennis -- he said that he expects only 2 more SE in 2008. Total 1800 -- mine is number #532.

Depending on where you live, you may have noticed that bikes aren't selling very well. HD had 1.05% financing through the first of February, but that didn't include SE models. The dealer I bought from, Doc's HD, Kirkwood, MO, has a couple SE models on their floor and I'm sure they would gladly sell them for MSRP. I put a deposit on mine back in July of '07 and took delivery of it the week before Thanksgiving and I paid your normal prep/destination etc and MSRP.

I don't think they have an Ultra, but I know they have a SERK and a FXD (not sure of that model, but it's not the springer).

I think most dealers could be persuaded to do MSRP unless you're in So Cal or FL where you can ride year round.

I hear of guys driving several hundred miles to get better deals.

Good luck with your purchase.
