Default NEW BIKE, TO CLAY OR NOT

Picked up a new 08 Ultra on Saturday, question is, should I or anyone clay a brand new bike? I have never clayed any car or bike but here some much about it I wanted to start this bike off in the right foot. Anybody ever clay their new bike and what product and process did you use?

I'll talk to ya sweetie Is there a reason one should clay a new bike? I don't think you need to but you won't do any harm, just remove the wax is all you'll be doing. I clayed mine last fall, around 8 months just for fun. I did pull some nibs off the paint but could not tell what they were but I could feel'em.

Cool, thank you. I think I will wait a least a few months.

D175, even if I clayed my bike right now, I doubt I could ever make it look like your's. Very sweet!

Have a 08 Deluxe I bought in September. I had used a couple products on it but wasn't really satisfied. (Mequires NXT and Crystal Glo). I just stripped it off with a dawn dish washing liquid wash. I used a Zaino clay bar and had just a couple spots. In retrospect, I don't think it needed it, but there is so little paint on a bike that it wasn't a great loss of time and I feel better about it. I followed with3 coats of the Zaino Z2 and Z6 and am very pleased with the results.

New paint doesn't need clay.
