Mine has the same buzzing sound. Dealer told me it was normal while the brakes wear in, but it's still there after 700 miles. Going to take it over to the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway tomorrow, about 300 miles round trip. We'll see if it's still there after that.

That buzzing goes away if you get the hub hot, like using the brake going down mile long hill, or a lot of hard stopping. Cool is good,
and you'll have that "buzz"

Just picke dup the bike yesterday but notices a wierd hum or whizzing sound when I downshift back to first when coming to a stop.  Pitch is speed dependent.

Normal or should I take it to the dealer?

Normal, I was told they couldn't fit a 1st gear indicator in the dash, so they installed a whine!

Dooley checking in.
Picked her up yesterday and put 120 miles on her the first day.
I was not crazy about the blue pearl color untill I saw it in the sunshine, it really pops.
I'll miss my 1200R, if I could afford both bikes I would have kept it.
At least I got a good trade on it though.
The Fat Bob is really more comfortable and handles very well in the twisty's.

dooley I traded in my 04 1200r for my fatbob and told my wife it was gonna take a hell of a bike to replace my sportster , I loved that bike and rode the piss out of it , so I know where your comming from. trust me the more you ride the bob the more impressed you will be, I dont regret trading at all. this is my old sportster .

that thing would run like a scalded dog  but so will the fatbob and its much more comfortable doing it.

When it have been raining here i only could drive the day i got it but the about 56 miles was lovely. Feels like the japanese era is over for good now
And I love the candy red colour, feels like it was worth waiting for.

I finally joined the club! I had been waiting for a Fat Bob at the local dealer to show up with no luck. Stopped in the other day just by chance, and they had just put one back on the floor that someone had bought but backed out of. It had a couple of upgrades, Stage 1, V&H pipes, sissy bar, so they cut me a pretty good deal to take it with the upgrades. (They were all stuff I was planning on doing anyway, but of course, I didn't tell them that!) Picked it up today and rode it around for a few hours. I love this bike! I have been a long time sport bike rider, and this is my first Harley. I'm hooked!

Congratulations all new Fat Bob owners.Still waiting for my bike to come but my dealer borrowed me a Fat Bob until my bike arrives.
Swede_1956,I was also looking for candy red sunglo but these colour was sold out.Instead I bought a black denim and maybe repaint it later. But the black denim paint looks good to but i wonder it seems a little more "fragile" than a paint with clearcote.

Went to the dealers on Saturday - mine was supposed to be dispatched from the moco on the 16th - but I can have the one that got dispatched on the 9th! - whoopee!

So that shoud make her mid-atlantic by now? She's then go to go the Belgium before being sent to the dealer in the UK. He's hoping I can have the bike the first week in June.

So thats a.....

Denim Black Fat Bob
V+H short shots
V+H fuel pack
Stage 1 air filter
Riders essential pack (wanted the detachable rack and sissy bar so thought....go on then)

Pressi to myself after finishing paying child maint to the ex!

Got mine about a week and a half ago.  Crimson Red Denim.  Gotta tell ya, when I ordered it, the salesman questioned if that was the color I wanted.  He said the color wasn't a big seller.  I originally wanted Pewter Denim but then saw a Street Bob in Crimson Denim and loved it.  I got the bike stock except for an oil cooler.  I've since added XIED's and I've removed the letter-openers.  In time I'd like to add a solo seat, remove the rear pegs, add a tank lift (may need to add a riser or rotate the bars up to allow clearance for the tank lift) and maybe add rush slip-ons.  I'm trying to take it slow.

Hi ALL!  I'm a late-comer to the forum, but I've had my FatBob since November and LOVE it!  I went with the Black Pearl!  If I didn't know better, I'd swear they shped that bike & seat for me!  It's so confortable to ride.  Longest ride so fdar has been a couple hours.  I could easily go anothe hour or 2 before stopping!  My Sporty (before the FB) was only good for about an hour - max.

Oh yeah...  what's the latest on the FatBob Patrol t-shirts I saw much earlier ion this thread?  I really like the white and the long sleeve black.

Love the FatBob!   The only time I do not use the bike as primary transportation is if I have passengers or need to haul something.  It has been over a month since I put any gas in my truck, due to the fact that it has been sitting parked outside the garage ... which houses the bike.

Lotsa looks and compliments on that thing, pretty much everytime I'm out.  HD got it right with this bike.  I'd like to see them introduce a "blacked out" version.

How do you like the ThunderMax?  I'm just about to give up the $$ and order the unit!   Did you install yourself?  How's the bike performing?  Were you able to address the heat problem?  I'm VERY interested in anything you can tell me about the installation and performance.

New here.....almost 2 months of phone calls and visits my FatBob arrives on the 2nd. Sold my other wheelz and I can't wait to get back on the road, driving the truck everyday is depressing. This will be my first Harley, so i need all the info and advice i can get. Mine started out as a vivid black, I almost went with the silver due to lack of options and now I'm actually going with a Pearl black. Anyone going up to D.C. tomorrow?

Don't want to offend and/or break the rules, but I am happy to announce that I am an almost there Fat Bob owner.  I started a thread about my progress and excitement, but probably should have posted here.  I'm sure i will learn.  Don't want to double post so if you get a chance look at my earlier thread:

"Ok now were are serious - Fat Bob - 5/24/2008 4:39:13 PM "

and mostly I want to say thanks to everyone who post here, I got a lot of help.
