Default Road King Custom Stripped . . . anyone?

I just joined this forum. I left a New Member post, and then thought I'd post here to see if anyone else out there has the same tastes as me.

I have an 07 Road King Custom. I'm a "less is more" kind of guy, which usually goes against the Harley grain as far as I can tell. It's just black. I have very small bar end mirrors, white lettered tires, and shorty duals. As far as I can tell, that's atypical for Harley baggers.

What's your opinion? Is it too plain? Ugly? Perfect? Cool?

Is there anyone else out there that likes has this minimalist look for their bike or am I an island!!

Same bike, yr and color myself. I lowered the front and had the seat shaved down, added flush gas caps and true dual Bassanni's. I love the look of the custom myself.

Well ZPA, you actually described your kind of bike quite well. It's not what I would want my bike to look like, but it must certainly be yours.
Setting your bike up to a specific look is for your appeasement. Never, ever never make your bike to look like what someone else likes, unless your going to sell it to them.

Looks good. A smaller seat would look good too (if you ride solo).

KCBulldog, that's cool. I actually had a 1'st custom last summer. At only 2 months old I had an SUV cross my path (end of bike and my ribs). Anyway, I had bassanis on that one. Only part of the exhaust was ruined, but Bassani wouldn't sell me anything less than an entire exhaust. They won't even sell an end cap!! So beware of Bassani if you need a part!! I loved how they looked and sounded, but I wasn't going to spend that much again when they have that type of customer service.

Eastern, yes, absolutely. My bike is my bike. I would never set it up to anyone's likes but mine. I was just curious to see if my tastes coincided with anyone else.

Since you asked................. I wouldn't touch bar end mirrors with your money, but if they work for you...<shrug> Loose the crash bars & leather bag covers & you'll be more "minimilist". If you carry a passenger (& like her) add a sissy bar (changeable from small to useable).

Other than that, it's your bike why do you care what we think?

Can't recall ever seeing a Harley with raised white letter tires. Looks pretty neat. Not for me though because I know how hard white letters are to keep clean on my truck. I had them turned in. Staggered duals look cool too. Did you have to fab them to fit???

Your bike looks great Z. Not my kind of thing but it still has a good look to it.

Whatever cocks your pistol ZPA.

I do agree with you though, I’m not much for gadgets either.

If you like it, that’s all that matters in my book.

I honestly don't care what you think. I'm just curious, since when I go to a local bike night, most and I repeat "most" Harleys look as if they went through a "doo dad" factory and picked up one of everything.
badges
buttons
fringes
handlebar tassles
chrome out the wazzoo
Live to Ride badges (on bikes with about 2000 miles on the odometer!!)
fork bags
windshiel bags
tank console bags
highway pegs
etc. etc. etc.

So by comparison, mine looks like Plain Jane. Just what I want. Less is more and I'm the one with the semi exotic stock bike, just because its different.
