well have been a few times and if you never been no one really can explain the experience. its a must do before ya see your  maker or or who ever. leaving this year out of south jersey and going for two weeks. have to trailer due to back issues but anyone wanting to hop on the ride and share expenses, going and comming give me a shout. once we get there do as you want. might stay at the eagles landing camp gd., cheap and good showers, food not bad (steaks) shuttle included, small band, great people, at other end of town but can see I-90 from the hill, more later. its a blast....

I havent seen any posts from Texans yet.

The wife and I were thinking of taking the RK out for a tour. Looking to hook up with others willing to make the ride from around our parts.

We were looking at an apartment and a cottage but now thinking of camping. There is a company that provides tents and accessories and will set them up for you before you get there and take it down when you leave. Camping concierge sorta.

Any one around Mineral Wells, Weatherford, Ft. Worth?

Going again....18 years. sort of a love/hate relationship. Maverick jason, Hog Heaven is a good place to tent if you can get in the trees. 10 minutes to downtown but a lot of traffic between you and Glenco, Buffalo Chip, etc where the big partying happens now. August 4 is the start.

I think I talked my dad into going, He's gone every year for as far back as i can remember.  He has some friends that have a house 2 blocks from downtown sturgis that we can stay in.  Were bring his enclosed trailer, He dosent want to ride there and back this year due to some health problems. I plan on riding and when i get tired i'll put it on the trailer.

Leaving the Milwaukee area August 2nd for the Chip. After 3 days in Sturgis it's off to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We should get home in time to get ready for the 105th.

We are strongly considering...plans for another trip fell through.  I have a line on a cabin at the new Sturgis Road Campground in Piedmont.  If anyone is heading from Washington, Oregon, or N.Utah...let me hear from you to compare routes & overnight locations!!

Best of luck to all...hope to see you there!!

Going with my husband and in-laws. Coming from Greenville, SC and we're staying at the Buffalo Chip Campground. First time out there for all of us I can't wait to go. We'll be there the entire week.

I'm heading up from Colorado, by way of Utah (hooking up with a friend who is coming from LA). Plan to be there on the 3rd, and stay until the 8th or so. Not sure where to stay yet - it will be the Chip, Glencoe, or Hog Heaven. Any suggestions appreciated.

This will be our, well my second trip to Sturgis. \\; Just took up riding last year at 60 and am looking forward to my second trip. \\; First bike was a 1200C Sportster, and being a new rider didn''t know any better, had a great time. \\; Replaced the Sportster with a 2004 Heritage Classic and can''t wait to ride out in comfort. \\; There are three of us, two from Illinois and one from Alabama. \\; We will be staying in a cabin in Hill City. \\; We are also planning a "side trip" to Yellowstone for a couple or three days.

Just a heads up, Just got back from taking the family unit on a Black Hills vacation. The northbound (westbound?) lanes between Rapid City and Sturgis are closed. It''s torn up and doesn''t look like it can possibly be fixed before August.

I am flying into Toronto with my bike from England, UK. Then riding to pick my wife up in Chicago on 2nd and riding to Sturgis - staying at Buffalo Chip. First time there and can''t wait.
 \\;
I then have three weeks or so to go and explore before going to 105th at Milwaukee - any ideas greatfully accepted.

Headin'' out from Portland, OR this year, last year from New Hampshire. Did the whole Yellowstone/Grand Teton trip, beautiful, watch out for the buffalo, seriously, they dart out into the road unexpected and really scare the crap out of ya. Staying at "The Chip".

Going to stop in to say Hi! this year, only staying about a day or two though. \\;
 \\;
We''re planning a much larger trip to see the western US during the month of August. \\; So far it looks like we''ll be trailoring out to his sister''s house in Boulder, CO (from South Jersey) \\;then riding out from there to Sturgis, Yellowstone, Glacier Park, out to the coast down the PCH to San Fran, across to Vegas and down through some desert to the Grand Canyon and then swinging back up around to pick up our trailor in CO. \\; Keeping a very loose idea of where to go to give us the freedom to just ride where the mood takes us. \\; (will definitely post pics when I get back!)
 \\;
This will be the third time I''m there, his fourth. \\; We usually go for the whole week and stay at the Bear Butte Creek campground, it''s just past the main entrance to the Chip on the other side of the highway. \\; Very pleasant place, small and quiet but they do have some live bands come in (no one famous, but some good jams) \\; Pretty good rates too! \\; We only paid $475 for the week and that was for our camper with water and electric. \\; Great place to stay if your more interested in riding than partying. \\; Gotta be quick about getting a space for your camper though. \\; We reserve our spot on our way out of the campground for next year.
 \\;
Our trips to sturgis are the best birthday presents I''ve ever gotten!
